MISC: The Evening Bulletin (Providence, RI), Wednesday, 24 July 1929: Raymond Peters, 17, of 24 Colfax street, waived examination and was committed to jail in default of $1000 bonds after being held for the grand jury when he pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving away an automobile without the owner's consent at special arraignment before Clerk Edward W. Day in Eighth District Court, Cranston, this afternoon. Peters is alleged to have been the third member of the group, which stole one machine early Saturday morning from Wakefield and then abandoned the car to return in a machine stolen from Auburn. Two other members of the group were apprehended Saturday after having abandoned the second car, owned by Joseph Mercurio of Legion Way, Cranston, when it stalled on a railroad crossing in Davisville. Providence police located Peters this morning in this city and turned him over to Cranston authorities for arraignment. Peters is said to have been under investigation by State Police for several days, and like his two companions captured Saturday, to have been for some time at Sockanosset. According to Providence police, he was previously arrested here for the larceny of a car in this city and given a deferred sentence.
- The Evening Bulletin (Providence, RI), Tuesday, 28 April 1931: (summary) Police in Norwalk phoned police in Providence about a theft of $1100 worth of radio tubes from Eastern Talking Machine Co. A trio, Raymond Peters, William Anthony and George Marvel had been arrested in Providence in possession of radio tubes. Marvel had worked at the store.
- The Portsmouth Herald (NH), Wednesday, 13 July 1938: Newport, July 13 - Raymond V. Peters of Claremont and Percy G. Long of Hanover were arraigned before Judge Francis W. Johnston in Superior Court here yesterday on nine indictments returned by a special session of this grand jury last week. The indictments charge first degree murder in the slaying of Dennis Kungulas, Newport storekeeper, in a holdup on the night of April 22, and also charge the pair with a holdup and robbery of a poker game here on April 3. Through counsel they pleaded not guilty to all the counts and were held without bail for the September term of court.
- Nashua Telegraph (NH), Wednesday, 1 August 1956: The Governor and Council received a pardon petition from Raymond V. Peters, 44, of Claremont, who has served 18 years of a life prison sentence for a robbery muder. The petition was referred to the State Prison Board of Trustees, which has already recommended clemency.
- Manchester Union Leader (Manchester, NH), Tuesday, 1 July 1958: Concord - Raymond V. Peters, a 45-year-old Newport man who has spent almost 20 years behind bars on a first degree murder charge, walked out of State Prison a free man this morning. He won a conditional pardon at yesterday's session of the Governor and Council. Peters wore the customary new suit of clothes and carried $20 in 'gate money.' He also had in his possession according to the deputy warden, money he had earned from his hobbycraft work in the institution. Described by the Catholic chaplain at the prison as 'a man I would trust anywhere,' Peters has a job waiting for him at a plumbing and heating supply company in Concord. The Newport man, who was serving a life term in prison, was convicted in December 1938 of the gunshot death of Dennis Kungulas during a holdup. A similar bid for freedom was rejected by the Governor and Council little more than a year ago. (More pardon details.) Governor Dwinell also read a telegram received from a brother, Chief Warrant Officer Edward H. Peters, who was unable to appear because he is now on his way overseas with the Army.
