Obituary:  Beaumont Enterprise (Beaumont, TX), Wednesday, 11 December 1991:  Hershel Pitre, 73, of Port Arthur died Sunday at St. Mary Hospital.  Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home.  A native of Ville Platte, La., he lived in Port Arthur 40 years and was a retired press operator from U.S. Steel.  Survivors include his wife, Rose Pitre of Port Arthur; son, Ray Pitre of Nederland; daughters, Belva Feltman and Becky Lindsey, both of Nederland; brothers, George Pitre of Port Arthur and Wilfred Pitre and Austin Pitre, both of Ville Platte; sister, Patsy Stegall of Morgan City, La., seven grandchildren, and a great-grandson.

Obituary:  The Beaumont Enterprise (Beaumont, TX), Friday, 3 March 2000:  Rose R. Pitre, 76, of Nederland died March 2 at her residence.  Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Directors with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.  Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  A native of Opelousas, La., she lived in the Nederland and Port Arthur areas 50 years and was a homemaker.  Survivors include her daughters, Belva Feltman and Becky Lindsey, both of Nederland; son, Ray Pitre of Nederland; three sisters; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
