Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 5 January 1986:  Ville Platte - Funeral services will be held for Mr. Howard Pitre, 57, of Ville Platte, at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Sacred Heart Church with burial in the church cemetery.  Mr. Pitre, a retired oilfield worker and WWII veteran, died 9 a.m. Saturday at Humana Hospital after a short illness.  Survivors include his wife, the former Nita Fusilier of Ville Platte; three sons, Kern Pitre of Plaisance, Freddie Pitre and Jimmy Pitre, both of Ville Platte; four brothers, Lionel Pitre and Leroy Pitre, both of Lafayette, Hosea Pitre and Bert Pitre, both of Ville Platte; six sisters, Mrs. Thelma Tate, Mrs. Hazel P. Dardeau, Mrs. Marie Perron, Mrs. Vivian Soileau, all of Ville Platte, Mrs. Joy Isreal of New Orleans and Mrs. Allen James Fontenot of Lafayette; eight grandchildren.  Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Friday, 18 December 1998:  Ville Platte - Funeral services for Mrs. Nita Fusilier Pitre, 79, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church here with burial in the old church cemetery.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Ville Platte, died Thursday, December 17, 1998, in Ville Platte Medical Center.  Survivors include: two sons, Freddie Pitre and Jimmy Pitre, both of Ville Platte; a brother, Ronald Fusilier of Opelousas; three sisters, Mrs. J.Y. (Elva) Soileau and Mrs. Lionel (Joyce) Fontenot, both of Ville Platte, and Mrs. Cedric (Rowena) LaFleur of Morgan City; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Pitre was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Pitre; and a son, Kern Pitre.  Visiting hours will be observed from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services.  LaVille Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.

Kern Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 8 February 1987:  Funeral services for Kern Pitre, 46, will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Our Lady Queen of All Saints Church in Ville Platte, with burial following in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery behind the church.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Plaisance, died at his residence at 4 a.m. Saturday after a short illness.  Survivors include: a wife, Judy Fontenot Pitre of Plaisance; two sons, Jason Pitre and Nicholas Pitre of Plaisance; mother, Mrs. Howard Pitre of Ville Platte; two brothers, Freddie Pitre of Ville Platte and Jimmy Pitre of Ville Platte.  Mr. Pitre was manager of McCrory's of Ville Platte.  Ardoin's Funeral Home is directing.
