Pitre (Mrs) widow 24 years, died Nov 28, 1936 at her daughter(s) Mrs Thomas Young, where she lived the past 17 years.  Children: Donald in Winnipeg, Albert and Herbie both in Bathurst, Mrs Joseph Henry of North Sydney, N.S., Mrs Jos Desroches of Coxheath, N.S., Mrs Thomas Young of Bathurst; two sisters: Mrs Wm Hachey of West Bathurst, Mrs John Burke of Washburn, Wisc., one brother Joseph of Superior Lake,Wisconsin.

Pitre.  Came to Bathurst 30 years ago.  Two brothers: Donald of Saskatoon, Sask., Herbert of Bathurst; three sisters: Mrs. Joseph Henry of North Sydney, Mrs. Joseph Desroches of Sydney, NS., Mrs. Thomas Young of Bathurst.  Funeral Sacred Heart Parish of Bathurst.

Gertrude Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Thursday, 2 April 1987:  Bathurst - Mrs. Gertrude Young, 91, of 321 St. John St., Bathurst, widow of Thomas J. Young, died Wednesday at Chaleur Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.  Born in South Tetagouche, she was a daughter of the late Hilairon and Marguerite (Pitre) Pitre.  She attended Sacred Heart Cathedral Roman Catholic Church and was a life member of the CWL.  Her husband died in 1951.  She is survived by a son, Aurele of Bathurst; a sister, Mrs. Ida DesRoche of Moncton; and five grandchildren.  A daughter, Mrs. Mildred Duguay, died in 1982.  The body is at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.  Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery later in the spring.

 

Marie Ida Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Saturday, 16 May 1987:  Mrs. Ida Marie DeRoche, 87, of 500 Elmwood Drive, Moncton, died Friday at The Moncton Hospital after a short illness.  Born in Bathurst, she was a daughter of the late Larry and Margaret (Pitre) Pitre.  A retired clerk, she attended Notre Dame de la Paix Roman Catholic Church, Moncton.  Her husband, Joseph DeRoche, died in 1960.  She is survived by a nephew.  A sister, Mrs. Gertrude Young, died earlier this year.  The body is at Tuttle Bros, Funeral Home, Moncton.  Funeral mass will be celebrated Sunday at 2 p.m. at Notre Dame de la Paix Roman Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dieppe.

 

Joseph Herbert Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Saturday, 17 February 1973:  Bathurst - The death of Herbert Pitre occurred Thursday at Chaleur Regional Hospital after a long illness.  He was 70.  Born in South Tetagouche, he was a son of the late Larry and Margaret (Pitre) Pitre.  He moved to Bathurst with his family as a child.  His work included a period of employment with the former LaPerrelle Lumber Co. Ltd. here.  He retired about seven years ago due to ill health.  He is survived by his wife, the former Excelda Chiasson; three sons, Robert of Montreal, Ernest of Scarborough, Ont., and Donald of Toronto; two daughters, Mrs. Garfield Yates (Patricia) and Mrs. Gerard Theriault (Emma), both of Scarborough and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Young (Gertrude) and Mrs. Joseph DesRoche (Ida), both of Bathurst and several grandchildren.  The body is resting at Elhatton's funeral home with funeral to be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral.  Entombment will be in the Roman Catholic cemetery vault on King Avenue to await spring burial in the adjoining cemetery.
