Obituary:  The Moncton Transcript (Moncton, NB), Wednesday, 13 March 1940:  Shediac, March 13 - Death on Monday noon removed a popular and well known woman of this town in the person of Mrs. Hilaire Pitre, who died after a brief illness at the age of 81 years.  A native of Prince Edward Island, she had resided in Shediac for a number of years and had made a wide circle of friends who regret to learn of her passing.  She is survived by two children, one son, Firmin and one daughter, Mrs. Mathilde Fougere, both of Shediac; one brother in Prince Edward Island and two sisters in the United States.  The funeral was held on Wednesday morning at eight o'clock from Saint Joseph's church.

Firmin Pitre:  The Moncton Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 21 October 1969:  The death of Firmin Pitre of Tipperary Street, Shediac occurred at the St. Joseph Home, Shediac on Monday following a brief illness.  He was 76.  Born in Prince Edward Island, he was the son of the late Hylaire and Marie (Gallant) Pitre.  He attanded St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.  He is survived by his wife, the former Laudiame Leger; two daughters, Mrs. Yvon Caissie (Beatrice) Shediac and Mrs. Norman Despres (Elizabeth), Coal Lake, Alta.; three sons, Camille, Shediac, Leo, Chatham and Donald, Fitchburg, Mass.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  The body is resting at Frenette's funeral home, Shediac with funeral service Thursday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church at 9 a.m.
