Obituary:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Wednesday, 11 March 1992:  Ville Platte - Services for Howard L. "Cayou" Pitre will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Gates of Heaven Cemetery under direction of Ardoin.  Pitre, 77, of Ville Platte died at 5 a.m. Tuesday in his home.  Survivors include two sons, John Burke Pitre and Charles Pitre, both of Ville Platte; two daughters, Jean Ortego of Ville Platte and Dolores Dunn of Alexandria; two sisters, Pearl Soileau and Nell Joubert, both of Ville Platte; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 15 September 1991:  Ville Platte - Funeral services for Mrs. Regina Pitre, the former Regina McDaniel, 76, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church here with burial in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Ville Platte died at 9:24 a.m. Saturday at Humana Hospital in Ville Platte of a short illness.  Survivors include: her husband, Howard L. "Cayou" Pitre of Ville Platte; two sons, John Burke Pitre and Charles Pitre, both of Ville Platte; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Ortego of Ville Platte and Mrs. Dolores Dunn of Alexandria; one brother, Chester McDaniel of Ville Platte; two stepbrothers Folin Fontenot of Opelousas and Lobbie Fontenot of New Orleans; one stepsister, Mrs. Lindsey Manuel of Ville Platte, eight grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  Visiting hours are until midnight today and from a.m. until time of services Monday.  A rosary is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday.  Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of all arrangements.
