Obituary:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 6 February 1969 - Howard Leo Lashomb, 59, of 24 Pine St., died in Massena Memorial Hospital at 4:55 o'clock Wednesday morning, Feb. 5, 1969, where he had been a patient three weeks.  The body is at the Phillips Memorial Home.  Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock at Sacred Heart Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.  Surviving are the wife; two sons, Raymond Lashomb, Sturbridge, Mass., and Donald D. Lashomb, Massena; mother, Mrs. Maud White, 57 Somerset Ave., one brother, Lester Lashomb, Massena; five grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews.  Mr. Lashomb was born July 10, 1909, in Brasher Falls, a son of Maud McDonald Lashomb White and the late William Lashomb.  He attended schools in Worcester, Mass., and married Miss Johanna (Jennie) Lamoureux, Apr. 5, 1925.  They were married in the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Worcester.  Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Massena and Mr. Lashomb began working at Massena Operations, Alcoa, Oct. 2, 1926.  He was employed in the merchant mill until he retired in April 1966, due to health reasons.  He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the League of the Sacred Heart and the Alcoa 25 Year Club.  The League of the Sacred Heart will recite the Rosary Thursday night at 8 o'clock at Phillips Memorial Home, for Howard Leo Lashomb.

Obituary:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday 3 November 1977:  Funeral services for Mrs. Joanne LaShomb, 67, of 24 Pine St., will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday at Sacred Heart Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.  She died at 8:45 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1, 1977, in the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital.  Calling hours will start at 2 p.m., Thursday until the time of the service.  She was the widow of Howard LaShomb, and is survived by one son, Raymond LaShomb, Sturbridge, Mass.; five grandchildren.  She was a member of the Massena Senior Citizens Club, the Massena Mother's Club and a communicant of the Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Sacred Heart League.  A son, Donald, died two years ago.  She was born in Webster, Mass.  The daughter of Abraham and Mary Gorska Lamoureux on Oct. 3, 1910.

Raymond Howard Lashomb:  Sturbridge Villager (MA), Friday, 12 September 2008:  Fiskdale - Raymond Howard "Tojo" Lashombe, 82, died Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, after complications stemming from a recently diagnosed brain tumor.  He was born on Jan. 29, 1926 in Worcester, and later moved to Massena, N.Y. where he lived until 1946 when he moved to Southbridge.  He served in the Army post-World War II as a Medical Corpsman in Japan.  He married Pearl Freeman in 1948 and moved to Sturbridge in 1956.  He worked for CPC Engineering in Sturbridge as a metal grinder for 30 years before retiring after which he worked in the Banquet Department of the Sheraton Hotel in Sturbridge.  He enjoyed his long-time membership to the American Legion Post #109.  He lived at Autumn Ridge in Fiskdale for the past 17 years.  He is survived by his grandchildren who loved him dearly, Scott Raymond Leduc of Sturbridge, Sharron McCarthy and her husband Robert of Bedford, N.H. and Kristina O'Connell and her husband Timothy of Wilmington, Mass.  He also leaves five great-grandchildren, Scott Craig, Callie Rose, Tess Marie, Elly Pearl and Lana Jade.  His wife Pearl died in 1986 and his daughter, Beverly Leduc and her husband Arthur of Sturbridge, predeceased him in 2000.  Ray "Tojo" was known for his sense of humor and optimistic outlook on life despite his blindness and deafness.  He will be remembered for his daily walks along Route 20 in Fiskdale on which he visited his many friends along the way.  One of his greatest joys was riding on the back of a tandem bicycle with his grandchildren sometimes riding up to 35 miles at a time.  He loved traveling and was always willing to go on an adventure.  He appreciated the services of Tri-Valley Elder Care and the assistance he received from the Association for the Blind.  He remained independent and upbeat until he succumbed to his illness.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13th at 9 a.m. in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Foundation Fighting Blindness.

Donald D. Lashomb:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday 18 December 1975:  Donald D. Lashomb, 48, of 73 Chase St., died at 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1975, in the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg.  He had been admitted to Massena Memorial Hospital Thursday night, transferred to the Ogdensburg Hospital Saturday and had been in critical condition since.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday at St. Mary's Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.  Surviving are his wife Mary Duquette Lashomb; his mother, Mrs. Johanna Lashomb, 24 Pine St.; five children, David, Norwich, Conn.; Ricky, Syracuse; Randy 18, Caron, 15, and Brenda, 7, all at home; one brother, Raymond, Sturbridge, Mass.  He was born in Massena Oct. 23, 1927 the son of the late Howard and Mrs. Johanna Lamoureux Lashomb.  He attended Massena Schools, joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 when he was 17 years old.  He served four years.  He married Mary Duquette in Sacred Heart Church Oct. 23, 1948. He was employed at Alcoa, Massena Operations and was a member of the 25 year service club; a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. [photo included]
