Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA): A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Hayman J. Pitre, 76, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 1:50 p.m. Oct. 10, 1999. Visitation will be noon to funeral time at the church. Burial will be at the church cemetery. He was the husband of Alzina Eymard Pitre; father of Michael G. Pitre; and brother of Bertman Pitre, Clara Begas, Verline Gisclair, Janet Lafont and Mabel Galjour. He is also survived by three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Alzina Danos Pitre; and brother, Harold "T-Brown" Plaisance. He was a lifelong oyster fisherman, the owner of Captain Hayman Oyster Company, a member of Louisiana Oyster Growers Association, a member of the Holy Name Society, a fourth degree knight in the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Obituary: The Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Sunday, 30 August 2015: Alzina Pitre Autin, 89, a native and resident of Cut Off, passed away August 28, 2015. Visitation will take place on September 1, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off from 9:00 am till service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am with burial in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Alzina is survived by her son Michael Pitre and wife Cathy, grandchildren Danielle Pitre Peterman and husband Robert Peterman II, Stefan Pitre and wife Tiffanie, and Kara Pitre, and great-grandchild Norah Pitre. Mrs. Autin was preceded in death by her first husband, Hayman Joseph Pitre, second husband, Garrison Autin Sr., parents Ocean and Felonise L. Eymard, and sisters Velma Wunstell and Enola Bourg. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, the Red Hats, loved singing in the choir, gardening, and taking care of her family. Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off entrusted with arrangements.
