Obituary: Massena Daily Courier Observer (NY), Wednesday, 22 November 2006: Norfolk - Funeral services for Harold J. LaShomb, 84, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of the Visitation. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Massena. Mr. LaShomb died Saturday (Nov. 18) at his daughter's home in Connecticut. He is survived by his son, Paul LaShomb of Cassadaga; his daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Dorsey Garrett of Connecticut; a daughter-in-law, Melody LaShomb of Norfolk; four sisters, Velma Deruchia, Kay Schneller, Mary Jane LaShomb and Marie Krusher; two brothers, Leo LaShomb and Carl LaShomb; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, James LaShomb; one sister, Virginia Barcomb; and four brothers, Robert, Donald, Lawrence, and Raymond. He was born on Jan. 30, 1922 in Massena, the son of Guy and Ethel (LaComb) LaShomb. He was a graduate of Massena High School. He married Veronica White on Jan. 17,1942. She died on Dec. 1, 1994. Mr. LaShomb was employed by Alcoa for 41 years. He enjoyed bowling and music and loved to play the guitar and sing for his beloved family of sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.

(NY), Friday, 2 December 1994: Norfolk - Funeral services for
Veronica M. LaShomb, 70, of Route 2, Norfolk, will be held Monday at 10 a.m.
at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Massena, the Rev. Monsignor John Pendergast
officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Massena. There will
be no calling hours. Mrs. LaShomb died Thursday (Dec. 1, 1994) at her
home. She is survived by her husband, Harold; a daughter, Mrs.
Dorsey (Beth) Garrett of Naugatuck, Conn.; two sons, James V. and Paul H.
both of Rochester; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild. She was
born in Newtown Falls on April 11, 1924, the daughter of Victor White and
Florence Euto. She graduated from Massena High School and was married
to Harold J. LaShomb on Jan. 17, 1942 at the Church of the Sacred Heart
by the Rev. Monsignor Timothy P. Holland. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation at William Black Medical Research
Building, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York, N.Y.

James Victor Lashomb: Voices (Woodbury, CT), Saturday, 23 June 2001: Naugatuck - James V. LaShomb, 49, of South Main Street, died Sunday, June 17 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband for 31 years of Melody (Daggett) LaShomb. Mr. LaShomb was born December 17, 1951 in Massena, N.Y., son of the late Harold and Veronica (White) LaShomb. A Naugatuck resident for the past four and a half years, formerly of Rochester, N.Y., he was a machinist with Taylor Instruments of Rochester for more than 20 years until his medical retirement in 1989. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Macy Mickle of Waterbury and Melissa Havican of Naugatuck; a brother, Paul LaShomb of Lodi, N.Y.; a sister, Beth Garrett of Naugatuck, and seven granddaughters, Christian Nelson, Megan Havican, Tifany Havican, Victoria Havican, Katherine Havican, Melody Mickle and Arianna Mickle. A memorial service took place June 21 at Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Connecticut Affiliate, Meriden.
