Pitre, Jr. and Paul J. Pitre, Sr.; grandmother of J.W. 'Jack' Mundy, II,
Wanina Rae "Nina" Mundy, Paul J. Pitre, Jr., Nicholas J. Pitre, Troy M. Bush and
Travis J. Bush; great-grandmother of Samantha and Kathryn Mundy, Kylee,

Karylyn Pitre Mundy was delivered from her unhealthy earthly body into the
arms of God on July 18, 2018 at the age of 74. Karylyn was born on January
31, 1944. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne R.
Mundy; mother, Florette Grentz Pitre; father, Henry J. Pitre, Sr.
and brother, Henry J. Pitre, Jr. She is survived by her two
wonderful children James W. "Jack" Mundy II (Anne) and Wanina Rae "Nina"
Mundy Debelo (Francis) and five grandchildren, Samantha Anne Mundy,
Kathryn Ashton Mundy, James W. "Lil Jack" Mundy III, Karilyn Rae Debelo and
Adrianna Rae Debelo, brother, Paul J. Pitre, Sr. (Joan),
sister-in-law, Michele Pitre, nephews, Paul J. Pitre, Jr. and Nicholas
J. Pitre including great nieces and nephews. She was born and raised
in Gretna, LA and resided in Belle Chasse, LA since 1971. She and Wayne
owned and operated their businesses in Gretna for the past 24 years until her
retirement in 2016. She held offices in the Gretna Business Association
and was one of the incorporators and Treasurer of the Gretna Economic
Development Association, sponsor of the Gretna Heritage Festival for which her
company was the bookkeeper until her retirement. Special thanks to the
staff of Crossroads Hospice in Houston, TX who cared for Karylyn with the utmost
professionalism, tenderness and compassion. Services were held at Our Lady
of Perpetual Help Church, Belle Chasse, LA on Saturday August 4, 2018 with
interment at Westlawn Memorial Park by Mothe Funeral Homes. For her Texas
family and friends, a memorial Mass was held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic
Church in Houston, TX on July 29, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations to
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Belle Chasse, LA or her Texas church, Christ
the Redeemer Catholic Church. Houston, TX 77065.
