Obituaries for the children:
Joyce Ann Peters: Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors (Milford, MI), 21 July 2025: Joyce Eulaine "Ann" (Peters) Eaton passed peacefully, in the presence of her children, on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Born November 14, 1938, at Cottage Hospital in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, Joyce was the cherished eldest daughter of Howard Alphonso and Eulaine Cecilia (Blair) Peters, and a devoted sister to Susan Kay (Peters) Agnew. All three now joyfully reunite with her in spirit. Joyce's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with compassion, strength, and deep devotion. She was a treasured and admired mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother, aunt, cousin, and friend - her love and presence touched every corner of her family's hearts. Her legacy lives on through her children: Kim Fous (Tom), Tracy Adams (Scott), and Greg Eaton (Deb); her grandchildren: Ansley (Fous) Smith (Jordan), Allie (Eaton) Fowler (Zach), Leah (Wurster) Whitney (Peter), Thomas Wurster (Kaileigh Dunkin), and Maxwell Eaton (Kaitlyn Tarr); and her great-grandchildren: Adelaide, Eloise, and Bennett Smith and Leighton and Emerson Fowler. She also adored her goddaughters: Christy (Agnew) Petru and Jenny (Helfrich) Weedmark, as well as the many friends and delightful "co-conspirators" who filled her life with laughter and love. Joyce graduated from Milford High School and earned her Certificate of Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry on June 6, 1959, embracing the profession with dedication and joy until 2009. She brought warmth and kindness to countless patients over the years in offices throughout Farmington, Milford, and Fenton, Michigan. She married George Edward Eaton on June 18, 1960, and together they built a loving family in Ferndale and Farmington before settling in Fenton in 1969. Fenton remained her cherished home until September 2024, when she moved to Story Point in Farmington Hills, where she continued to share her light. Joyce was a talented artisan whose hands stitched love into every creation. From personalized teddy bears marking life's milestones to Christmas stockings that warmed generations of hearts, her gifts were tokens of her care. She found joy in boating, water skiing well into her 70s, snorkeling, golfing, and lively backyard volleyball games. Winters sparkled with snowmobiling, downhill skiing, and neighborhood hockey - where she was the famously fearless, snow shovel-wielding goalie. Her gardens bloomed with vibrancy and love, a reflection of the joy she poured into everything she touched. She served her community with grace and boundless energy - leading religious education at St. John's Catholic Church in Fenton, supporting Girl Scouts, coaching softball, mentoring children, and giving her heart to every committee she joined. In Bob Lobdell, Joyce found the love of her life - someone who shared her zest for sports and companionship. Whether cheering for the Wolverines, Red Wings, Tigers, or Lions, or watching golf and tennis together, their joy was palpable. Joyce's warmth, spirit, and spark will be missed beyond measure - but never forgotten. She hoped we'd think of her whenever we see a hummingbird - tiny, vibrant, and endlessly in motion, just like her. Her memory will flutter brightly through all who were lucky enough to know her. Funeral Mass to take place on Monday, August 11 at St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows in Milford at 11:00 AM. Instate, or gathering time, at 10:00 AM. The family kindly requests donations be made in Joyce's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
Susan Kay Peters: Susan Kay Agnew, a lifetime resident of Milford, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 30, 2018. She was 69 years old. On January 21, 1949 in Detroit, Howard and Eulaine (Blair) Peters welcomed Susan, their youngest daughter and completed their family of four. Sue was welcomed home by older sister and friend, Joyce (Peters) Eaton. She grew up in the Milford area and graduated from Milford High School. In 1967 she married George Agnew, and moved to Kentucky for a short time while he was serving in the military. On her very own birthday, January 21st, in 1969 she gave birth to Christy (Agnew) Petru. Later that year Sue moved to 721 Manordale Court in Milford, the place she called home for the rest of her life. When Christy was older Sue remained true to her love of children and began her career first working in childcare and then for a local pediatrician. She was most recently employed at the Milford Family Practice until she retired in 2016. For that last 20 years she enjoyed a loving relationship with longtime fiance, Gary Motley. Together they enjoyed traveling, spending time on their boat or at their time share, and socializing with family, friends and neighbors. She was also blessed by being able to spend quality time with her three grandsons, Ryan and Tanner Petru, and Kyle Isaacson, and two granddaughters, Lauren and Rachel. Sue will be remembered as a sweet, caring and strong woman who will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her. She is survived by her companion of over 20 years, Gary Motley; daughter, Christy (Brad) Petru; sister, Joyce (Bob Lobdell) Eaton; grandchildren, Ryan and Tanner Petru; step-daughters, Erica (Troy) Isaacson and Tara (Harry) Motley; nephews, Greg and Kevin; nieces, Kim, Tracy, Terri and Deniece; step-grandchildren, Kyle, Lauren and Rachel. Susan is also survived by many close friends and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Eulaine Peters. A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10 AM, with gathering beginning at 9 AM. Burial at Milford Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 3-8PM. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
