Obituary: Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 1 June 1972: George L. LaShomb, 64, of 55 Brighton St., Massena, died Thursday, May 25,1972. He was hospitalized one week. Funeral services were held on Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock in Sacred Heart Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. LaShomb was born in Norwood, Dec. 26, 1907, son of Michael and Phoebe Deshane LaShomb. He married Eleanor Barry on May 2, 1928. He is survived by his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Frederick (Geraldine) Cousin, Swayerville, Pa.; Mrs. Leo (Helen) Burditt, Massena; Mrs. Marcel (Hilda) LaCourse, Endicott; Mrs. Paul (Mary) Jesmer, Rantoul, Ill.; Mrs. Leon (Jane) Jerry Jr., Rotterdam; and Miss Myrtle LaShomb, Syracuse; one son, Sgt. Patrick LaShomb; Hawaii; also 22 grandchildren, one great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Myron (Myrtle) Fezette, Massena; and Mrs. Robert (Corrine) Miller, Rochester; two brothers, Robert, Ogdensburg; and Leland, Massena. LaShomb, 94, formerly of Brighton Avenue and Laurel Terrace, Massena will be
celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Sacred Heart with the Rev. Donald
J. Manfred as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Phillips
Memorial Home, Massena. Mrs. LaShomb died Friday (March 12, 2004) at the
St. Regis Nursing Home, Massena. She is survived by three daughters,
Mrs. Leon (Jane) Perry of Schenectady, Mrs. Fred (Geraldine) Cousin
of Swoyersville, Pa., and Myrtle LaShomb of Dewitt, N.Y.; a son,
Patrick G. LaShomb of Massena; 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six
great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna LaShomb of Auburn. She
was predeceased by three daughters, Mary Wilde, Helen Burditt and Hilda
LaCourse; two brothers, John Barry and Michael Barry; three sisters,
Agnes Bourchard, Ida Laubenhemier and Julia Mackey. Mrs. LaShomb
was born May 16, 1909 in Massena, the daughter of Henry and Margaret
(Crowley) Barry. She married George L. LaShomb on May 2, 1928
at St. Mary's Church by the Rev. John Bellamy. Mr. LaShomb died in 1972.
Mrs. LaShomb was employed as a cafeteria worker at Holy Family High School.
She worked for many years a housekeeper in private family homes in Massena.
She was a member of the Massena Senior Citizens and the Ladies Christian
Benevolent Association (LCBA). Memorial contributions can be made to
Trinity Catholic Endowment Fund.

Geraldine Lashomb: Oswego News (NY), Thursday, 10 January 2019: Geraldine (LaShomb) Cousin passed away 12-14-2018 in Pennsylvania. Born 02-24-1930 to the late George & Eleanor (Barry) LaShomb. She attended sacred Heart School than at age 16 went to Omaha Nebraska to enter servants of Mary Convent. After 11 months she returned to Massena. She worked at fishman's store & the old Sacred heart Rectory. She married Fred Cousin from N.Y.C. after living there for several years. The family moved to Swoyerville PA, where she lived for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Church very active in Church and birth right. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Fred, son Charles, grandson Robert, brother Patrick LaShomb, sisters Helen Burditt, Hilda LaCourse, and Mary Weild. Survived by sons Gerald, James, William, and sisters Jane Perry Guilderipnc, N.Y, & Myrtle LaShomb Syracuse. Funeral was held Dec. 17th in Swoyerville PA.

Surviving are her husband Leo; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Linda) Hyde, Massena; one son, Bruce Burditt, Massena; her mother, Mrs. Eleanor LaShomb, Massena; one brothers Patrick LaShomb, Massena; four sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Cousin, Swoyerville, Pa., Mrs. Marcel (Hilda) LaCourse, Concord, N.C., Mrs. Leon (Jane) Perry, Rotterdam, N.Y. and Myrtle LaShomb, Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister. Mrs. Burditt was born in Massena on April 28,1932, daughter of George and Eleanor Berry LaShomb. She married Leo Burditt on March 26,1951 in Massena. Mary Doris Lashomb: Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Friday, 12 November 1976: Wisconsin Rites for Mary Wield - Massena - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary LaShomb Wield, 39, a daughter of Mrs. Eleanor LaShomb, 55 Brighton St., were to have been held today in Antigo, Wisc. Mrs. Wield died on Tuesday, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wisc., where she had been a patient for approximately nine weeks. Death was attributed to a blood clot. Mrs. Wield had undergone brain surgery on Oct. 18. She is survived by her mother; her husband, Merlyn; four daughters, Bobbie-Marie, Francine, Paula Mary, and Donna; a son, Floyd, all at home; and five sisters, Mrs. Fredrick Geraldine Cousin, Swayerville, Pa., Mrs. Leo Helen Burditt, Massena, Mrs. Marcel Hilda LaCourse, Endicott, Mrs. Leon Jane Perry, Rotterdam, and Miss Myrtle LaShomb; and a brother, Patrick LaShomb, Massena. Patrick G. Lashomb: Watertown Daily Times (NY): Patrick LaShomb, 61, of Maple Drive, Swoyersville, died April 30, 2011, at home. He was born in Massena, a son of the late George and Eleanor LaShomb. Pat was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was formerly employed by Alcoa, Massena, before moving to Swoyersville in 2005. Pat was preceded in death by sisters, Helen, Hilda, and Mary. He is survived by children, Corey, Matthew, Eric, and Shonna Ferrer; grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine Cousin, Jane Perry, and Myrtle LaShomb; as well as nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed, always had a smile, was fun loving, and would always lend a hand. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Massena. Arrangements are under the care of the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.
