Terrebonne Press (Houma, LA), Tuesday, 14 December 1965: Funeral
services were held Monday, December 13 for Mr. Gustave Justilien Pitre,
92, who died on Friday, December 10, at his residence at 313 Myrtle Street.
The Terrebonne native and retired farmer was preceeded in death by his wife, the
former Clementine Guilliot. He is survived by one son, Odelo
Pitre, of Houma; two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert Robichaux, of Houma, and
Mrs. Felix Ledet, of Thibodaux; 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Teles
Thibodeaux, of Marrero, and Mrs. Willie Thibodeaux, of Bourg; 24
grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and five, great-great-grandchildren.
Services were from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church to St. Ann's Cemetery, in
Bourg. Arrangements were through the Chauvin Funeral Home.

Obituary: The Courier (Houma, LA), Friday, 15 January 1965: Mrs. Gustave Pitre, nee Clementine Guillot, 90, died on January 14 at 6:30 a.m. in Terrebonne General Hospital. She was a resident of 313 Myrtle Street. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 15, (today) at eleven o'clock from Chauvin Funeral Home to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary church with interment in St. Ann's cemetery, Bourg. She is survived by her husband, one son, Odelo Pitre, three daughters, Mrs. Gilbert Robichaux of Houma, Mrs. Teles Thibodeaux of Marrero, Mrs. Willie Thibodeaux of Bourg and one step-daughter, Mrs. Felix Thibodeaux of Thibodaux. Two sons, Ferdinand and Leonard Rogers, and two daughters, Mrs. Camille Detiveaux and Mrs. Arthur Vito, preceded her in death. Twenty-four grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also survive. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at the Bisland Cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Nolan Vito, Johnny Ledet and Robert Ledet, all of Thibodaux; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Matherne and Mrs. Annabell Gilfour, both of Thibodaux; one brother, Odelo Pitre of Houma; one sister, Mrs. Marguaret Pitre Robicheaux of Thibodaux; 25 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Vito, and her second husband, Felix Ledet; parents, Gustave and Cecilia Blanchard Pitre; two sons, Junius Vito and Luby Vito. He is survived by his wife, Alice Marie Pitre; two sons, Irvin and Odelo Pitre Jr. of Houma; two stepsons, William Raymond Wallace of Monticello, Ark., and John Lynn Wallace of Houma; two daughters, Shirley Deroche and Earline Liner of Bourg; one sister, Augusta Thibodaux of Bourg; 13 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Blanchard Pitre; his parents, Gustave and Clementine Guillot Pitre; one brother, Ferdinand Rogers; and three sisters, Margaret Robichaux, Denise Ledet and Marie Thibodaux. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was a head custodian with Terrebonne Parish School Board.
