Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 2 February 1930:  Entered into rest on Saturday, February 1, 1930, at 8:40 o'clock p.m., Lelia Schexnayder, widow of the late George Pitre, mother of George, Elroy, Elaine, Ruby and Junious Pitre, sister of Mrs. L. Gendron, Mrs. Alfred Bakewell, Mrs. Warren Berger, Henry and George Schexnayder, aged 41 years 11 months, a native of Lutcher, La.  The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will take place Monday morning, February 3, 1930, at 10 o'clock from the residence of her sister, Mrs. L. Gendron, Cardere Subdivision, Gretna, La.  Fred Leita in charge.

Elroy Joseph Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Friday, 14 February 1947 - On Thursday, February 13, 1947, at 7 o'clock a.m., Elroy Joseph Pitre, beloved son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Pitre, foster-son of Mrs. Laura Trahan, brother of Mrs. James Belcher, Mrs. Raymond H. Johnson, George and Junius Pitre, aged 28 years; a native of Lutcher, La., and a resident of Algiers, La. for the past 18 years.  Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Todd-Johnson Dry Docks, Inc., are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will take place Friday, February 14, 1947, at 10 o'clock a.m., from the Algiers funeral home of E. J. Mothe, 1300 Vallette street.  Religious services at Holy Name of Mary church.  Interment in McDonogh cemetery.


Ruby Pitre:  Ruby Mary Johnson 84, passed away on February 16, 2007.  Ruby was born on September 2, 1922 in Lutcher, LA to George and Lelia (Schexnayder) Pitre one of five children.  Ruby grew up in the New Orleans, LA area attending a Catholic High School graduating when she was 15 years old.  Ruby married Raymond Johnson on November 30, 1944 in New Orleans, LA and to this union four children were born.  Ruby was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed her family very much.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Limon, CO.  Ruby enjoyed embroidery, cooking, traveling, playing cards and bingo.  In her younger years she won several Spelling Bee contests.  Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers; George, Junius and ElRoy, one sister Elaine Belcher and one granddaughter Melissa Hitchcock.  Ruby is survived by her children and their families; Kathleen (Ronald) Thompson and daughter Michelle Thompson, her children; Kaci and Carlee all of Almena, KS, Barbara Jean (Donald) Hitchock of Loveland, CO and son David (Kimberly) Hitchock and children, Avery, Davin and Haven of Greeley, CO, Mary Louise (Kelly) Talamo of Cumming, GA and family, Summer (Guy) Phillips of Alpharetta, GA, Brooke and Jeremiah Paul Talamo of Cummings, GA, one son Stephen (Debbie) Johnson of Warsaw, MO and family Mindy Rae Johnson of Bolivar MO, Kyla Paulette Johnson and Tiffany Ann Johnson all of Warsaw, MO.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.  Funeral services for Ruby will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at the Love Funeral Home Chapel in Limon, CO with Kelly Talamo officiating.  Interment will follow at Pershing Memorial Cemetery in Limon, CO.  Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, 2007 from 1-4 P.M. at the Love Funeral Home.  Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association 4567 East 9th Ave. Denver, CO 80220.

(Red) Pitre of Gretna, La., on Tuesday, September 18, 1984 at 9:45 o'clock a.m.  Beloved son of the late Lelia Schexnayder Pitre and George Pitre, beloved foster son of the late Liberine Schexnayder Bakewell and Alfred Bakewell Sr., brother of Mrs. Ruby Johnson of Limon, Co., Mrs. Elaine Belcher of Metairie, La., and George Pitre of Harvey, La.  Foster brother of Mrs. Marjorie Forrest of Houston, Tx., and Alfred Bakewell Jr. of Gretna, La.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Age 60 years.  A native of Lutcher, La., and a resident of Gretna, La., for the past 56 years.  Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Publicker Chemical Company, are invited to attend the funeral services from Mothe Funeral Homes, Inc., 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, La., on Friday, September 21, 1984 at 9 o'clock a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel.  Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park.  Parlors will be open on Thursday, September 20, 1984 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
