Obituary:  Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Thursday, 10 April 1947:  Potsdam, April 10 - Fred J. LaShomb, 60, died suddenly at his home, 3 Walnut street, yesterday shortly before noon.  Death was attributed to a heart attack.  Mr. LaShomb, who was employed at the Racquette River Paper company mill, had been in apparent good health until Sunday, when he complained of illness.  He worked at the mill Monday, but returned to his home in the afternoon, where he had remained Tuesday and yesterday.  He was dressed and around the house yesterday morning and had had breakfast at the table.  Later, he complained of illness.  He died shortly after the arrival of a physician.  Mr. LaShomb was born at Brasher, April 14, 1886, a son of John LaShomb and the late Mrs. LaShomb.  He was twice married.  His first wife was Charlotte Santimaw.  The couple had two children.  Several years ago Mr. LaShomb was divorced from his first wife, and in June, 1944, he married Mrs. Harriett LaPointe of Potsdam.  The couple had resided in Walnut street.  During the earlier part of his life, Mr. LaShomb had lived in Utica for about 30 years; and for 17 years was employed with the Millard & Sons company in that city.  For the past nine years, he had been employed at the Racquette River Paper company, Unionville.  Mr. LaShomb is survived by his wife; two daughters by his first marriage, Lucille, Washington, D.C., and Dorothy, Utica; his father, John LaShomb, Brasher; two sisters, Mrs. Vern Perrica, Poughkeepsie, and Mrs. Hattie LaVale.

- Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 17 April 1947:  Mr. and Mrs. Vern J. Perrica and daughter, Mrs. Sam Longie, and son, Richard, Poughkeepsie, were called to Potsdam by the sudden death of Mrs. Perrica's brother, Fred LaShomb.  They spent the weekend with Mr. Perrica's sister, Mrs. Ed Shampine, Mr. Shampine and their family, West Hatfield St.

Obituary:  Utica Daily Press (NY), Thursday, 3 May 1962:  Mrs. F. Edward Monahan, 62, formerly of 1726 Armory Dr., died yesterday in a local hospital.  Charlotte Santimaw was born in Massena, daughter of Frank and Anna Pellot Santimaw. S he was educated in the Potsdam Schools, and was graduated from the Potsdam Normal School.  She was married to Fred LaShombe.  Mr. LaShombe died many years ago.  In 1929, she married F. Edward Monahan.  Mr. Monahan died in November 1961.  Mrs. Monahan was a member of St. John's Church. S he had been employed at the Masonic Home and at St. Elizabeth Hospital until her retirement in 1959.  She leaves two daughters, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Keiser, New Hartford, and Mrs. Charles (Lucie) Emery, Waterville; two sisters, Mrs. George (Ada) Henderick, Greenfield, Mass., and Mrs. George (Laura) Bazell, Rome.  The funeral will be at 8:30 Saturday from the Heintz Funeral Home and at 9 from St. John's Church where a requiem Mass will be offered.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today and tomorrow.

Obituary:  Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Tuesday, 23 January 1979:  Potsdam - Mrs. Harriet M. Pernice, 84, former Potsdam resident, widow of Raymond Pernice, died Monday in the United Helpers Home, Ogdensburg, where she had been a resident since 1973.  The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church with Msgr. William J. Argy officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Calling hours at the Garner Funeral Home will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jean Azzara, Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.  A daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Denner, died in 1974.  She was born in Ogdensburg, June 1, 1894, daughter of Gilbert and Cecelia Border Kiah, and attended area schools.  She was married to Raymond Pernice.  He died years ago.  Mrs. Pernice was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of that church.

Dorothy M. Lashomb:  Observer Dispatch (Utica, NY), Thursday, 14 June 2007:  Dorothy LaShombe Keiser, 89, of New Hartford, joined her husband, Bill on June 11, 2007, in Heaven who was waiting for her with a Manhattan.  She was born on April 11, 1918, in Utica, a daughter of the late Gertie and Charlotte Santimaw LaShombe.  She attended local schools and graduated from Whitesboro Central Schools in 1937.  She married William J. Keiser, Jr., on August 2, 1941, in Historic Old St. John's in Utica and he died on July 30, 1999.  She was employed at the Bank of Utica for many years and retired from Hamilton College as an administrative assistant in 1975.  Dorothy was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church where she also volunteered.  She also served as President of the Amateur Antique Club and was a volunteer for the Lutheran Home.  Dorothy had a very rewarding and wonderful life.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.  She is survived by a son, William J. Keiser, III and his wife, Sandra of New Hartford; a daughter, M. Beth Arcuri and her husband, Frederick of New Hartford; six grandchildren, William Keiser, IV, Kristen and Louis Falvo, III, Kelly and Brad Pietryka, Kimberly Keiser, Christopher and Angela Arcuri and Michael Arcuri and his fiancee Brandi Buttiglieri; 12 great-grandchildren, Billy, Drew, Alexis, Allison, Anthony, Brad, Matthew, Jack, Camryn, Jayden, Aiden and Jake.  She also leaves several close friends, Annabel, Jean, Caroline, Millie and Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, Lucille Emery.  The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Spath and the staff of CCU and the 5th floor of Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare for the care and consideration during her brief illness.  A Memorial Mass will be on Saturday at 10:00 at St. John the Evangelist Church.  Interment will be Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are with the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, New Hartford.  In lieu of flowers, please consider the American Heart Association in memory of Dorothy.

Lucile Patricia Lashomb:  The Waterville Times (NY), Wednesday, 30 May 2007:  Lucile P. Emery, 86, of Waterville, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the Elizabeth Medical Center.  She was born March 17, 1921 in Utica, the daughter of the late Fred and Charlotte Santimaw LaShombe and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School.  On Jan. 17, 1942 at Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica, she married Charles H. Emery and together they shared a relationship of 59 years, until his passing Oct. 23, 2001.  She attended St. Bernard's Church, Waterville.  Lucile was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She was a blessing to her children and was a blessed woman of God.  Mrs. Emery is survived by her six children and their spouses, Tom and Barb Emery of Albany, KY, Tim and Carol Emery of Marcy, Jeff and Theresa Emery of Windsor, CT, Mary Emery of Utica, Patty Emery of Waterville and Theresa and John Mills of Syracuse; her sister, Dorothy Keiser of New Hartford; her brother-in-law and his wife, Harry and Dorothy Emery of New York Mills; her sister-in-law, Harriet Graham of Rochester; six grandchildren, Jody Thomas, Robert (Lindsay) Emery, Paul Emery, Jeffrey Emery, Theresa (Lenny) Hawkins and Daniel Emery; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday at St. Bernard's Church, Waterville.  Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, Waterville.
