Obituary:  The Ottawa Citizen (Ottawa, ON), Wednesday, 13 February 1935:  George E. Lashambe - Cornwall, Feb. 13 - Ill for over a year, George Edmund Lashambe, a popular Cornwall butcher, died at his home, 32 Louisa street north, on Sunday.  The funeral was held from his residence yesterday morning and was largely attended.  Requiem high mass was sung by Rev. Duncan McDonald at Nativity church and interment was made in Flanagan's Point cemetery.  Pallbearers were Arthur Dextras, Albert Dextras, Rosaire Forget, Adrien Marleau, Evard Bowen and Albert Lavigne.  Mr. Lashambe was born in Cornwall 43 years ago.  He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lashambe, who have made their home in River Beaudette, Que., for the past three years.  All his life was spent in Cornwall.  He was a well-known business man and his death was regretted by a wide circle of friends.  Surviving are his father and mother, his widow, formerly Miss Louise Masson of Cornwall; two sons and three daughters, Miss Antoinette Lashambe, Maurice Lashambe, Miss Laurette Lashambe, Miss Margaret Lashambe, Rodolph Lashambe, all at home; three brothers and three sisters, Ephriam Lashambe, William Lashambe, Montreal; Gordon Lashambe, Mrs. Arthur Bergeron, Mrs. John Jesmer and Miss Kathleen Lashambe of Cornwall.

Obituary:  Daily Standard Freeholder (Cornwall, ONT), Saturday, 30 June 1951:  Suffering a heart attack at the home of one of her daughters, Mrs. Arthur Tardiff, 525 Bedford Street, early Tuesday morning, Mrs. George Lashambe was conveyed to the Hotel Dieu Hospital at noon Wednesday.  She failed to rally and passed away early this morning, fortified by the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church.  The announcement of her death will be received with sincere regret by the many friends of the family.  Born in Cornwall, she was the former Louise Masson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Masson.  She passed her 58th birthday on May 10.  She spent her entire life in her home town.  Her husband died 16 years ago.  Surviving are two sons and three daughters - Maurice Lashambe, Rodolphe Lashambe, Mrs. Arthur Tardiff, Mrs. Armand Tardiff and Mrs. Leopold Bissonnette, all in Cornwall.  She also leaves two sisters and a brother - Mrs. Joseph Begin, Martintown; Mrs. Henry Lussier, Verdun, Que.; Wilfrid Masson, Cornwall.  The body is at Miller's Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held on Monday, July 2, to Nativity Church for the Requiem High Mass at 11 a.m.  Interment will be made in Flanagan's Point cemetery.

Rodolphe 'Pete' Lashambe:  The Sault Star (Sault Ste. Marie, ONT), Tuesday, 6 May 1997:  Lashambe, Rudolph (Pete) - Passed away at home Saturday May 3, 1997 at the age of 72.  Loving husband and friend of Olive (Sybil) Lashambe.  Dear father of Richard (wife Cecile) of Sault Ste. Marie, Robert (wife Ester) of Germany, Louise (friend Jan) of Richmond, B.C. and Darcy (wife Marilyn) of Surrey, B.C.  Grandfather of Darryl of London, Tina of Sault Ste. Marie, Dustin of Collingwood and Karli of Mississauga.  Dear brother of Mag (husband Art), Tarif and Antoinette.  Predeceased by brother and sister Maurice and Loretta.  Fondly remembered by his special friends Roger and Gisele Carrier, Fred and Sadie Schliephacke and many if not all the residents of Wawa.  Pete was born in Cornwall, Ontario on November 4, 1925.  He moved to Wawa in 1960 with his family and went to work at Algoma Ore, after 25 years of dedicated service, Pete retired in 1985.  Pete will always be remembered for his great love of hockey and the Montreal Canadiens have lost their greatest fan.  When Pete was not watching hockey, he was dancing.  Fred Astaire now has competition in heaven.  Of course, anyone who knew Pete will realize that he went into all his projects with a passion and dedication that surpassed all.  Funeral will be held on Wednesday May 7, 1997 at the United Church of Canada on Broadway Avenue in Wawa, Ontario at 1:00 p.m.
