Obituary: Syracuse Herald Journal (NY), 9 January 1974: Gordon A. Pitre, 55, of 1016 1/2 Milton Ave., died today at his home. A native of Gouverneur, Mr. Pitre was a resident of Syracuse 28 years. He was employed as a truck driver for 28 years at the Peter A. Frasse Steel Co. Inc. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ardis Hickok Pitre; five sons, Ralph, Gary and Bryan Pitre of Syracuse, Joseph of Solvay, and Randy Pitre of U.S. Marine Corps, stationed at Camp LeJeune, N.C.; five daughters, Mrs. William Clifford of Mexico, N.Y., Mrs. Linda Cummings of Solvay, Mrs. Stephen Emmons of Bridgeport, Mrs. Edward Squires and Miss Penny Pitre, both of Syracuse; his mother, Mrs. Edith Pitre of Syracuse; a brother, Jeddie Pitre of Carthage; three sisters, Mrs. Gail Shamback, Mrs. James Garnsey, both in Florida, and Mrs. Virginia Edgar of Carthage; and 20 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home, Solvay, the Rev. Clytus J. Moary, officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

Pitre, Sr., 80, formerly of Evans Mills and most recently of Brewerton, passed away on Monday after a long battle with cancer. Ralph was predeceased by his mother, Ardis Quackenbush; father, Gordon Pitre and siblings, Sharon Squires and Gary Pitre. He is survived by his 8 children, 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patriot Guard Riders of New York.

2008 Gary B. Pitre, 60, of Phoenix, passed away Tuesday at home
surrounded by his family. He was a dedicated husband, father and
grandfather, who was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of Corcoran High
School. He was a member of Teamsters #317 and was a truck driver for
Herlihy Trucking and Clark Concrete. He was an Army veteran having served
in Vietnam and past Commander of the Phoenix VFW #5540. He was also a
former Oswego County Adjutant who lobbied many years for veterans rights in
Albany and a member of the Professional Bullriding Association. He was
predeceased by his father, Gordon; sister, Sharon Squires and
brother-in-law, Bill Clifford. He is survived by his wife of 37
years, Mary Ann (Stoltz) Pitre; son, Chad (Kathy Woods) Pitre,
Memphis; daughter, Tiffanianne (Kim Nestler) Pitre, MA; mother, Ardis
Quackenbush, Pennellville; brothers, Ralph (Bev), SC, Joseph
(Paulette) Syracuse, Randy (Linda), Jordan, Bryan (Regina),
NC; sisters, Barbara Clifford, GA, Linda (Jim) Lancette, Syracuse,

Milton Ave., Syracuse, a Watertown native, died Saturday at Rome-Murphy
Hospital, Rome, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. The
funeral was at 9 this morning at the Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home, Solvay.
Burial was in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, DeWitt. She is survived by
her husband, Edward; four sons, Edward Jr., Michael, Roger and Rodney,
all of Syracuse; two daughters, Sherry and Margo, both of Syracuse; four
grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Ardis Pitre, Syracuse; five brothers,
Joseph, Randy and Bryan Pitre, Syracuse, Ralph, Florida, and Gary,
Phoenix, and four sisters, Barbara Clifford, Mexico, Linda Briggs,
Syracuse, Terry Emmons and Penny Bennett, both of Clay. Born in
Watertown on April 21, 1942, daughter of Ardis Hickock Pitre and the late
Gordon Pitre, she lived in Syracuse for most of her life. Mrs. Squires
was employed at the Syracuse Parks and Recreation Department.
