Obituary:  Plattsburgh Press Republican (NY), Friday, 13 November 1992:  Constable:  Gerald A. Peets Sr., 81, died Thursday Nov. 12, 1992, at the home of his granddaughter, Dianne Shantie, on Fountain Street in Constable.  He was born March 6, 1911, in Merrill, the son of Alfred and Ellen (Gadway) Peets.  In his earlier years, he had been employed with the Grumann Corporation on Long Island.  He had been employed with Coca-Cola Company in Connecticut, and had been a dairy farmer in Chateaugay for many years.  He is survived by his wife, the former Madeline Vaughn, whom he married Jan. 19, 1933, at the Chateaugay Methodist Church; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gerald Peets Jr. of Wingdale and William and Helen Peets of Middletown, Conn.; a sister, Deborah Ard of Chase Mills; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.  Two sisters, Lenora Tatro and Marguerite Peets; and a brother, Fremont Peets, died earlier.  A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Chateaugay Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery, Chateaugay. Memorial donations may be made to Caring Friends of Hospice.

Obituary:  The Malone Telegram (NY), Wednesday, 17 September 2014:  Madeline E. Peets, 101, of the Alice Hyde Nursing Home, formerly of Chateaugay, passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, with her family at her bedside.  Born in Isle La Motte, Vermont, on June 6, 1913, she was the daughter of William and Maud (Vauslette) Vaughn.  They predeceased her.  She was married to Gerald Peets on Jan. 19, 1933, at the Chateaugay United Methodist Church.  He predeceased her on Nov. 12, 1992.  Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill and Helen Peets of Chateaugay and Jerry of Chateaugay; two granddaughters, Dianna Shantie of Chateaugay and Sherrie Carta of East Haddam, Connecticut.; four great-granddaughters, Lisa Demarse and Christine Thomas, both of Chateaugay, Tamie Jones of Colchester, Connecticut, and Alyssa Carta of East Haddam, Connecticut; one great-grandson, William Hamiliton of Middletown, Connecticut.; and a brother, William Vaughn of Rome, New York.  Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Burial will take place in Eastside Cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home.
