1734 Acadia – 18 September 1762 France
Francois Pitre was born c1734 at Cobequit, Acadia, the 5th of eight sons of Claude Jean Pitre and Marguerite Doiron. He was deported along with his brothers Claude, Paul Hypolite, and Raphael. They arrived at St. Malo from Cherbourg on 20th July 1759. He married Ursule Breau on 18th March 1762 at Pleurtuit. Francois did not live long enough to see his only daughter Ursulle’s birth as he died at Pleurtuit in September of 1762.
His widow Ursule Breau and daughter Ursulle sailed to Louisiana on L’Amitie in 1785. The daughter Ursulle married Aimable Etienne Landry in 1788 and the couple plus Ursulle’s mother Ursule Breau settled in Lafourche. They are found together in the 1791 Lafourche census. The Landry family appears in the 1795 census but without Ursule Breau.
