Obituary: Frederick V. Peters, 69,
of Dexter died at his Grove Street residence Feb. 4 (1974) after a long illness.
He was born in North Andover, Mass., March 15, 1904, son of Jerome and
Catherine (LeClere) Peters. He was educated in the Andover schools,
attended Boston University, Columbia University and New York University.
He was a graduate of the state teachers college, Oswego, N.Y. He taught
for 35 years in the school department of New Rochelle, N.Y. He retired
from teaching in 1964 and has made his home in the Dexter area since that time.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New Rochelle, was a treasurer of
the New Rochelle Teachers Club Credit Union, was a communicant of St. Anne's
Catholic Church, Dexter. He is survived by his widow, Yvonne of
Dexter; two sons, Joseph of Marysville, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs.
Yvonne Payette of Planation, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Irving
of Ulster, Pa., and Leo Peters of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine
Holmes of Chelsea. Mass., Mrs. Louise Bryson of Florence, Ore.
Funeral services will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church today (Thursday) at
10 a.m. Rosary was said at the Crosby Funeral Home Wednesday evening.

Obituary: Dexter - Yvonne M. Peters, 87, widow of the late Frederick V. Peters, died July 21 (1992) at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Dexter April 3, 1905, a daughter of Joseph and Lena (Clukey) Higgins. She was a member of the Daytime Extension, the Dexter Library Club, the Cursillo Movement and the Ripley Ravelers Craft Club. She is survived by two sons, Frederick Peters Jr. of Dover-Foxcroft and Joseph Peters of Weston, Conn.; a daughter Yvonne Mary Payetta of Sunrise, Fla.; a brother Dennis Higgins of Buffalo, NY; a sister, Bivian Hill of Coral Gables, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Friends called July 23 at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 238 Main Street, Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 24 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter, with the Rev. Marcel Robitaille officiating. Burial was at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.

Frederick Vincent Peters: Bangor Daily News, Monday, 9 April 2012: Dover-Foxcroft - Frederick Vincent Peters Jr., 81, passed away April 7, 2012, surrounded by family at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 28, 1930, in Dexter, son of Frederick and Yvonne (Higgins) Peters. Frederick grew up in New Rochelle, N.Y., and attended Albany College of Pharmacy and graduated from Fordham University. In 1955, he moved to Greenville. After working at Harris Drug he purchased his own store in Dover-Foxcroft - Peters Pharmacy, which he ran until 1995. He worked for Brooks and Rite Aid after retiring for more than 50 years as a registered pharmacist. Fred served with the U.S. Naval Reserves, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was stationed in Newfoundland, Canada, where he met his wife of 60 years, Violet Ricketts. Fred was an avid pilot, getting his pilot's license before his driver's license. He continued to fly private planes after leaving the Air Force and was a member of Dexter Aero Club. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas parish, a member of Knights of Columbus, a former member of Kiwanis Club and a former selectman of the town of Dover-Foxcroft. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Joanne; and sister, Yvonne Mary Payetta. He is survived by his wife, Violet; brother, Joseph Peters; three daughters, Barbara Brooks and her companion, Fred Miller, Suzanne Peters and her companion, Bob Lundgren, and Diane Johnson and her husband, Daniel; five grandchildren, Jacob Brooks and his wife Amanda, Zachary Brooks, Jarod Johnson and his wife Caitlin, Danielle Johnson and Gabrielle Johnson; several nieces, nephew and cousins. A memorial Mass will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Dover-Foxcroft, with Father Kent Ouellette officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the family lot at Dover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Children's Cancer Treatment Center, care of Health Care Charities, P.O. Box 931, Bangor 04402-0931. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
Joseph Jerome Peters: Joseph J. Peters, of Weston, the husband of
the late Faith M. (Canty) Peters, passed away peacefully at home on June
22, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was 79. Joe was born February
18, 1933, in Port Chester, NY, son of the late Frederick and Yvonne (Higgins)
Peters and has been a resident of Weston for the past 37 years. Joe
grew up in New Rochelle, NY but also spent a lot of time with his family in
Maine during summer vacations. Joe helped his father build a family
cottage on Lake Wassookeag near Dexter, Maine, the place of many happy family
memories. Joe graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of
Maine and received his Master of Science and Doctorate from the University of
Wisconsin in Madison with degrees in Dairy and Food Industries and a
specialization in Bacteriology. He was a lifelong member of Phi Kappa Phi.
After graduating, he enjoyed a long career with Nestlé as a Food Engineer which
included time working and living with his family in Lausanne, Switzerland.
During this time he and his family traveled throughout Europe, visiting many
countries, and enjoying the culture and art of each. During retirement,
Joe worked as a private consultant for Nestlé and Carvel while obtaining his
real estate license purely for fun. Joe enjoyed going to church, working
in the garden, spending time with friends and, most of all, enjoying time with
his family. Joe is survived by daughters, Kimberly J. Wheeler of
Ithaca, NY, and Andrea M. Hughes and fiancé James Cersosimo (&
grand-puppy Tucker) of Astoria, NY, and sons Gregory E. Peters and wife Cindy
of Kansas City, MO, and Douglas J. Peters and wife Donna of Richlandtown,
PA, as well as eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Joseph was predeceased by his son,
John F. Peters, his sister Yvonne M. Payetta, and his brother
Frederick V. Peters, Jr. Private interment was held June 26th at Oak
Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield, CT. The Harding Funeral
Home 210 Post Rd. E., Westport assisted the family with the arrangements.
