Obituary:  Lake Charles American Press (LA), Tuesday, 18 October 1966:  DeQuincy - Funeral services for Frank Pitre, 64, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Temple Baptist Church here with the Rev. Bobby Slaydon, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the McFatter Cemetery under direction of Snider Funeral Home.  Mr. Pitre died at 11 p.m. Monday in his home after a sudden illness.  He had resided in DeQuincy for 50 years.  He was an employee of the State of Louisiana in the Sam Houston State Park near West Lake.  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ida Pitre; one son, Drew D. Pitre of DeQuincy; one daughter, Mrs. R. H. Quinn of DeQuincy; two brothers, Charlie Pitre of DeQuincy and Mansel Pitre of Carlyss; one sister, Mrs. S. Fontenot of Hecker; and seven grandchildren.

Obituary:  Lake Charles American Press (LA), Wednesday, 17 November 1999, DeQuincy:  Funeral services for Ida M. Pitre, 96, will be at 10 a.m. today, Nov. 17, in Snider Funeral Home.  The Revs. James Kimball and Carolyn Volentine will officiate.  Burial will be in McFatter Cemetery.  Visitation is from 8 a.m.  Mrs. Pitre died at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, in the DeQuincy hospital.  She was a lifelong resident of DeQuincy and a member of Temple Baptist Church.  Survivors include one son, Drew Pitre of DeQuincy; one daughter, Frankie Quinn of DeQuincy; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Drew Dee Pitre:  American Press (Lake Charles, LA), Wednesday, 15 February 2017:  (photo) Drew Dee Pitre, age 88, a native and resident of DeQuincy, La., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at Christus St. Patrick Hospital, Lake Charles, La.  He was a direct descendant of John Jacob Ryan Sr. and Mathis Gimnick.  He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army Missile Battalion and served his country from August 1954 through August 1956.  Drew was a welder and boilermaker with Local 587.  He loved to read Western novels.  Drew was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathryn Charpentier Pitre; six children, daughters, Dru Elayne Talbot and husband Ben of Lake Charles, La., Darlene Oneal and husband Robert of Beaumont, Texas, Jolyn Pitre of DeQuincy, La., Donna Collins and husband Monty of Farmington, N.M., Debra Lockett and husband Bobby of Lake Charles, La., and son, Dale Pitre and wife Tina of DeQuincy, La.; along with 17 grandchildren, Alisha, Benjamin, Erin, Jessica, Ashley, Alex, Kamryn, Randy, Traci, Todd, Christy, Mandy, Cade, Steven, Lisa, Tamara and Leah; 18 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Pitre and Ida Royer Pitre; and one sister, Frankie Pitre Quinn.  Visitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, from 7-9 p.m. at Riley Smith Funeral home.  There will be a private funeral service at Riley Smith Funeral Home with a private interment at DeQuincy Memorial Park.  Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, DeQuincy, La.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Arthritis Foundation or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
