Obituary:  The Daily News Leader (Staunton, VA), Sunday, 3 August 1958:  F. J. Peters Dies at 57 - Frank J. Peters, 57, of Mt. Sidney died Friday at 11:30 a.m. in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., where he had gone for treatment about two weeks ago.  Mr. Peters was a native of Michigan and lived in Washington a number of years before coming to Mt. Sidney about five years ago.  He was owner of the Blue Ridge Fence & Window Company at Mt. Sidney and also was secretary-treasurer of the newly formed corporation, Aluminum Burial Vaults of America.  He served in the United States Army during World War II.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Irma Floyd Peters, Mt. Sidney; a step-son, Harry Floyd Emmitt, Memphis, Tenn., and three sisters residing in Michigan.  A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock in the Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church, Ft. Defiance, conducted by the Rev. James A. Allison, Jr.  He will be assisted by the Rev. Samuel Flora, Pastor of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren.  Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be: Malcolm Garber, John E. Shipplett, Sr., Charles Thurston, Leon Diehl, William Molley, George Hobson, S. J. Zemyan and David L. Doering.  Honorary pallbearers will be salesmen and employees of the Blue Ridge Fence and Window Company.  The body will remain at the Fred Henry Funeral Home until 12:30 p.m. Monday and then will be placed in the church.  The pallbearers are requested to assemble at the church at 1:45 p.m.

- The Daily News Leader (Staunton, VA), Tuesday, 5 August 1958:  Frank J. Peters.  The funeral service for Frank J. Peters, Mt. Sidney businessman, who died Friday in Rochester, Minn., was held Monday afternoon at two o'clock in the Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church.  The service was conducted by the Rev. James A. Allison, Jr. and the Rev. Samuel Flora.  Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Obituary:  Lansing State Journal (Lansing, MI), Monday, 8 October 1984:  Peters, Gertrude L., 2719 Tulane, Age 88, passed away Oct. 6, 1984.  She had been a resident of Lansing since 1966.  Mrs. Peters graduated from Olivet College.  She was a former public school teacher and retired from the Wayne County Bureau of Social Services.  Surviving are daughter, Jean F. Antico of Lansing; 3 sons, James R. of Danville, CA, Thomas F. of San Jose, CA and Donald of Lone Oak, TX; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.  Interment services will be conducted by Rev. Donald A. Wenstrom of the Pilgrim Congregational Church (U.C.C.) at 2:30 p.m. Tues. at Evergreen Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials may be made to the Lansing Public Library or the American Cancer Society.  Arrangements are being made at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Obituary:  The Daily News Leader (Staunton, VA), Monday/Tuesday, 23/24 April 1973:  Mrs. Frank J. Peters.  Mt. Sidney - Mrs. Irma (Floyd) Peters, owner and operator of Blue Ridge Fence & Window Co., and widow of Frank J. Peters, died 5:46 p.m. Sunday (April 22, 1973) at her home near here following a short illness.  A daughter of Waldo and Irma (McElveen) Floyd, she was born in Statesboro, Ga.  She was  a member of Soroptomist Club.  Surviving are a son, Harry F. Emmitt of San Antonio, Tex., three grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.  A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the chapel of the Fred Henry Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul H. Fike.  Burial will be in Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Harold H. Wine, Cletus E. Houff, Jack Cooper, Charles Edwards, Rudolph V. Nagy and Steve J. Zemyan.  Friends will be received at the funeral home tonight from 7-8 o'clock.  The family suggests that those desiring make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, Staunton, Va.

Jean Frances Peters:  Lansing State Journal (Lansing, MI), Sunday, 1 February 2009:  (photo) Jean Antico.  Haslett - Jean Frances Antico, age 80, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Eaton Community Hospice House in Charlotte.  Jean was born December 2, 1928 in Detroit, the daughter of Gertrude and Frank Peters.  As a youngster, she was raised in part by her beloved Aunt Hazel (Grover) Rich.  Jean joined the workforce at the age of 16 and worked as a legal secretary for almost 60 years.  She spent most of that time in the Lansing area, working for several different attorneys.  While both working and raising a family, she went back to school and earned a bachelor's degree in Ancient History from Michigan State University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.  In her later years, Jean cultivated the practice of Kripalu Yoga and taught classes for a number of years.  Despite being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2006, she continued to teach as long as she was able.  An intelligent, independent woman, Jean was a voracious reader and enjoyed gardening.  Some of her favorite times were spent in the company of close friends, going to antique shops and shows in between stops for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  She was preceded in death by an infant twin brother, Jack Peters.  Jean is survived by two daughters: Carla (Tony) Bumstead of Eaton Rapids and Mary Antico of Montreal, Quebec; brothers, Jim (Tempe) Peters of Carlsbad, CA, Tom (Kathy) Peters of San Jose, CA, and Don (Kate) Peters of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Sam, Andy and Kelly Bumstead of Eaton Rapids and Benjamin and Nicholas Antico of Montreal, Quebec; and a number of very close friends.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, with Fr. Bennett Constantine officiating.  A luncheon reception will follow at the St. Peter Church Hall, Eaton Rapids.  Memorial contributions can be made to WKAR Public Television in East Lansing or Eaton Community Hospice.
