Onesime Pitre: The Times Democrat (New Orleans, LA), Wednesday, 13 May 1868: The Opelousas Courier of the 9th has been informed that Mr. Onezime P. Pitre, a well-known citizen of the Parish of St. Landry, committed suicide a few days ago by blowing out his brains with a shot gun. No cause is assigned for the rash act.
