Obituary: Floyd L. Pete Sr., died Jan. 19, 1991 - Williamsburg - Floyd L. Pete Sr., 83, of Williamsburg, died Saturday at Grand Traverse Community Hospital in Traverse City. A resident of Williamsburg since 1964, he was a retired farmer and electrical contractor. He had lived for many years in Newport, where he was a former member of the Swan Boat Club, the Newport Volunteer Fire Department and St. Charles Catholic Church. He belonged to Worker Council No. 7419 Knights of Columbus and St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, both in Kalkaska. Born in Erie on Aug. 9, 1907, he was the son of Albert and Laura (Russeau) Pete. On March 1, 1926, in Trenton, he married the former Bertha Droulliard, who died in 1988. Surviving are two sons, Floyd L. Pete Jr. of Monroe and Hartwell Pete of San Clemente, Calif.; three daughters, Joy Revard of Carlton, Patricia Kleine of Sturgis and Cheryle Shinaver of Sterling Heights; a brother, Russell Pete of South Rockwood; a sister, Naomi Lindly of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. The Rev. Patrick Barrett will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery, Barker Creek. Friends may visit until 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight. Tuesday visitation is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home and from 2 p.m. until the time of services at the church.

Obituary: Bertha L. Pete, died Nov. 29, 1988 - Williamsburg - Bertha L. Pete, 82, a homemaker, died Tuesday evening at Provincial House in Traverse City. A former Newport resident, she lived in Williamsburg since 1964. She had been a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Kalkaska. The daughter of Joseph and Louise (Bargo) Droulliard, she was born Aug. 11, 1906, in Trenton. On March 1, 1926, in Trenton, she married Floyd L. Pete, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Floyd Pete Jr. of Monroe and Hartwell Pete of San Clemente, Calif.; three daughters, Joy Revard of Carleton, Pat Kleine of Sturgis, and Cheryle Shinover of Sterling Heights; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Pete Jr., age 81 years, of Monroe, MI. passed away at 8:15pm February 11, 2010. Floyd was born August 8, 1928 in Wyandotte, MI. to Floyd J. and Bertha (Drouillard) Pete Sr. He attended school at St. Charles in Newport, MI. Floyd married Jean Mae Hedrick-Sachs June 23, 1962. She preceded him in death on October 10, 2009. Floyd was employed at Ford Motor Co. Monroe Plant as a foreman in the wheel room for over 30 years, he retired in 1980. Floyd was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and in his younger years bowling. His memberships included St. Marys Catholic Church Monroe, Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. Floyd is survived by children: Dennis (Kathy) Sachs of Monroe, Danny Sachs of Monroe, Dawn (Mike) Musko of Monroe, Yvonne (Dennis) Bezeau of Ida and Renee (Rod) Grodi of Erie, brother: Hartwell Pete of Cal., sisters: Patty (Martin) Klein of Sturgis, MI. and Cheryal (Dale) Chinavare of Sterling Heights, MI., 9 grandchildren: Nicole (Randy) Nott, Cory Musko, Amanda (Jason) Johnson, Lynn (Jason) Dirkmaat, Brandon (Tiffany) Bezeau, Heather Grodi, Joanna Vega, Benjamin (Melissa) Grodi and Shawn Sachs, 10 great grandchildren: Izabella Nutt, Haydn Nutt, Carmyn Bezeau, Wyatt Dirkmaat, Kaylyn Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Abagail Bezeau, Jaxon Bezeau, Zachary Vega and Raquel Vega.
