Obituary:  Watertown Daily Times (NY), 3 February 2008:  The funeral for Floyd L. LaShomb, 80, of 7 Remington Ave., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Visitation with the Rev. Andrew J. Amyot, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery.  Mr. LaShomb died Friday morning at Massena Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since Wednesday.  There are no calling hours.  Arrangements are with Buck Funeral Home.  Mr. LaShomb was a machinist at the Aluminum Company of America, now known as Alcoa, for 44 years until retiring in 1989.  Born Jan. 28, 1928, son of Leland and Phoebe Derouchie LaShomb, he graduated from Sacred Heart School, Massena.  He served in the Navy during World War II.  Mr. LaShomb married Donalda "Donnie" Martin on Nov. 9, 1946, at Sacred Heart Church, Massena, with the Rev. Wilfred A. Nugent officiating.  Mr. LaShomb was a member of the Norfolk American Legion, Massena Veterans of Foreign Wars and Amvets.  Surviving besides his wife are two sons and their wives, Lynn P. and Rochelle, and David A. and Debbie, all of Norwood; a daughter-in-law, Carol LaShomb, Oregon; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Leland J., Syracuse, and Wallace J. and Elaine, Summerfield, Fla., eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.  Two sons died before him, Floyd "Sal"on May 11, 1990, and Gary L. on Oct. 24, 2004.  Two brothers, Thomas R. and Alvin J., also died before him.  Donations may be made to the Church of the Visitation, Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.

Obituary:  Norfolk- A Mass of Christian Burial for 88-year-old Donalda F. “Donnie” LaShomb, a resident of 3 High Street, Norfolk, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Andrew Amyot presiding.  Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery in Norfolk.  Family and friends are invited to call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  Mrs. LaShomb passed away on New Year’s Day at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.  Donnie is survived by two sons, David and Debbie LaShomb and Lynn LaShomb, both of Norwood.  Donnie is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Lori Dore, Jennifer LaShomb, Derek LaShomb, Sommer LaShomb-Bonilla, Amber LaShomb, Albert Petrosky, Lauren LaShomb and Ryan LaShomb; a great-grandchild, Brogan Dore; two brothers, Richard Martin, Louisville and James and Jane Martin, Massena.  Donnie was pre-deceased by her husband Floyd, two sons, Floyd “Sal” LaShomb and Gary LaShomb; a brother Bernard and two sisters, Frances Fuller and Ramona McIntyre.   Born in Massena, NY on July 25, 1927 to the late James and Clara Dyer, Donnie married Floyd LaShomb on November 9, 1946.  Floyd passed away on February 1, 2008.  Donnie worked at the First National Bank and the NBT Banks in Norfolk, retiring after 33 years of service.  She was a communicant of the Church of the Visitation and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, where she was very active.  Donnie also served as an Eucharistic Minister for the parish and loved to travel and visit with her family and friends.  Donnie was well known and loved in the softball community as “Ma LaShomb”.  Memorial Donations in Donnie’s Memory can be made to the St. Jude’s Hospital.  The Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk is serving the family of Donald F. “Donnie” LaShomb.

Gary Lee Lashomb:  Watertown Daily Times (NY), Thursday, 11 November 2004:  Norfolk - Gary LaShomb, 57, Phoenix, Ore., formerly of Norfolk, died Oct. 24 in Oregon.  He had been ill with cancer.  Among his survivors are his parents, Floyd and Donalda LaShomb, Norfolk.  A memorial Mass is at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Visitation with the Rev. Andrew J. Amyot, pastor, officiating.  A luncheon at the Visitation Parish Center will follow the service.  Local arrangements are with Buck Funeral Home, Norfolk.

Floyd L. Lashomb:  Watertown Daily Times (NY), Monday, 14 May 1990:  The funeral for Floyd "Sal" LaShomb, 40, Baldwinsville, formerly of Norwood, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Visitation, Norfolk, with the Rev. George Maroun officiating.  Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk.  Mr. LaShomb died Friday at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Nedro on May 9.  Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Buck Funeral Home, Norfolk.  Surviving are his parents, Floyd and Donalda LaShomb, Norfolk; a daughter, Sommer L. LaShomb, Norwood; three brothers, Gary L., Albany, Lynn P. and David A., both of Norwood, a nephew and three nieces.  Born in Massena on June 11, 1949, a son of Floyd and Donalda Martin, he was a 1967 graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central School.  He married Gretchen Bick on Aug. 14, 1976, at the home of the bride's parents, with the Rev. Max Coots officiating.  The marriage ended in divorce.  Mr. LaShomb, a veteran of the Army and former manager of the Bullpen Tavern, Norwood, was employed with Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, Syracuse, as a dispatcher.  He played softball for the Bullpen Tavern softball team for several years and was currently playing softball for IAAC fast pitch team, Syracuse.  He was past-altar boy of the Church of the Visitation, Norfolk.

Lynn P. Lashomb:  North Country Now (Potsdam, NY), Sunday, 12 March 2023:  Norwood - A Celebration of life gathering for Lynn "Lynzo" P. LaShomb, 72, a resident of 51 Mechanic Street, Norwood, will be held in the springtime at a time to be announced.  Mr. LaShomb passed away early Friday morning, March 10, 2023, at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.  Lynn is survived by a son, Ryan LaShomb, Norwood; a daughter, Lauren LaShomb, Utica and a brother, David and Debbie LaShomb, Norwood as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.  He was pre-deceased by his parents, Floyd "Ole' FL" and Donalda "Donnie", and two brothers, Floyd "Sal" and Gary LaShomb.  Born in Massena, NY on June 10, 1950, to the late Floyd and Donalda Martin LaShomb, Lynn graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Class of 1968.  He was an exceptional basketball player in both high school and at Potsdam State where he set multiple records.  He worked for over 40 years for CSX Railroad, where he retired as a track foreman.  Lynn owned and operated the Bullpen Tavern in Norwood at one time and currently, the Gandy Dancers Rest.  Lynn enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones, this is where he felt most at home.  Lynn shared a love for people that was unmatched and always managed to see the good in others.  Lynn was a free spirit who did everything on his own terms.  He was an avid sports enthusiast.  He loved all sports but had a passion for Syracuse Orange Basketball and the Buffalo Bills.  He enjoyed playing softball and golf as well.  He loved collecting railroad and sports memorabilia and displayed his collection at the bar for everyone to appreciate.  Lynn was a big supporter of his community and was extremely proud of where he came from.  He made it a priority to donate as much as he could to local charities, foundations, and fundraisers to do his part in taking care of his hometown.  Memorial Donations can be made in memory of Lynn to the St. Jude's Foundation.  The Buck Funeral Home in Norwood is serving the family of Lynn P. "Lynzo" LaShomb.
