Obituary: Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Sunday, 22 March 1981: Joseph F. Pitre, on Saturday, March 21, 1981, at 11:50 o'clock a.m., beloved husband of Louise Savoie Pitre, father of Leatrice P. Poche, and the late Norma P. Roberti; brother of Beatrice Robert, and the late Ernest B. Pitre; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, a native and lifelong resident of Westwego, age 86 years. Relatives and friends of the family, also members of the American Legion Post 284, are invited to attend the funeral. Services from the Westwego Funeral Home of William Betz Sons, 327 Sala Avenue, on Monday, March 23, 1981, at 11:45 o'clock a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Funeral Home, Westwego, for S. Louise Pitre, 91, a native of Larose and a
resident of Westwego for 58 years, who died at 5 p.m. Thursday. She was
the wife of the late Joseph Pitre; mother of Mrs. Leatrice Poche and
the late Norma Roberti; sister of the late Eugene, Edmond, Clay, Henry,
Armond, Octave and Elise Ledet. She is also survived by 10
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
