Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 1 November 1988:  Ville Platte - Funeral services for Mr. E.T. "Pete" Pitre, 69, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church here with burial in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Ville Platte, died at 11:02 p.m. Monday in Humana Hospital in Ville Platte.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rose Thompson Pitre of Ville Platte; two sons, Waven Luke Pitre of St. Angelo, Texas, and Ricky Dwaine Pitre of Charleston, S.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Drella Bee) Pitre of New Orleans, Mrs. Milton (Grace) Brown of Oakdale and Mrs. Paul (Cynthia) Barnaby of Mansfield; a brother, Madison Pitre of Ville Platte; a sister, Mrs. Golbert (Mary Lou) Ortego of Ville Platte; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.  The funeral home will be open all night and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.  Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 9 March 1992:  Ville Platte - Funeral services for Mrs. E. T. Pitre, the former Rose Bay Thompson, 69, were to be held at 2 p.m. today in Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church here with burial in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Ville Platte, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday in Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs.  Survivors include: two sons, Waven Pitre of San Angelo, Texas and Ricky Pitre of Charleston, S.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Cynthia) Barnaby of Mansfield, Mrs. Milton (Grace) Brown of Oakdale and Mrs. Ronald (Drella) Pitre of Maurepas; three sisters, Mrs. Annabelle Foret, Mrs. Harrison (Mercadise) LaFleur and Mrs. Eula Guillory, all of Ville Platte; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte was in charge of arrangements.

Brown of Oakdale were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 1998 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jude Brunnette officiating.  Burial was in Sacred Haert Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.  Mrs. Brown, 52, died Saturday, October 17, 1998, in Alexandria.  She was a public school teacher and a native of Ville Platte.  She is survived by her husband, Milton 'Pee Wee' Brown of Oakdale; two sons, Mike Brown of Kinder and Lance Brown of Oakdale (in the armed service); one daughter, Shelly Wright of Oakdale; two brothers, Waven Pitre of San Angelo, Texas, and Ricky Pitre of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Drella Pitre of French Settlement and Cynthia Barnby of Mansfield; and three grandchildren.  Pallbearers were Kevin Pitre, Gerald Harrington, Kevin Willis, Chad Pitre, Thomas Pitre and Jody Vidrine.
