Obituary:  Houma Daily Courier (LA), 4 February 1998:  Rose Kreamer Pitre, 80, a native and resident of Houma, died at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998.  Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home.  Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.  She is survived by five sons, Allen, Rickie, Steve, Glynn and Eustice Pitre Jr; six daughters, Mrs. Russell (Eurma) Landry, Dorothy Deroche, Mrs. Kerry (Joyce) Carson, Mrs. Kenneth (Barbara) Arceneaux Sr., Rose Mary Guidry and Mrs. David (Lisa) Foret; two brothers, Guelvin and Murphy Kreamer; 57 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Eustice Pitre Sr.; her parents, Theodore and Leah Kreamer; one son, Kenneth Joseph Pitre; four brothers, Edwin, Eddie, Joseph and Whitney Kreamer; two sisters, Mrs. Tanile (Aleda) Landry and Mrs. Sylvester (Louise) Dupre; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  She was a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

Eustice Pitre:  Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home and Cremation Center:  Eustice Joseph “EJ” Pitre, Jr. 79 of Houma, LA passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 15th at his home in Ft. Lauderdale.  He was born on March 30, 1943 in Houma, LA the son of Eustice Pitre, Sr. and Rose (Kraemer) Pitre.  He was a Graduate of Terrebonne High School and a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He had a distinguished career in the oilfield rising through the ranks from roughneck to OIM both domestically and overseas and after retirement loved his work so much that he returned to work as a consultant for several years.  He was a husband of 53 years and father to 4 children and in addition to his own brothers and sisters, was also the “Big Brother” to 14 of his wife’s siblings as well as their spouses and was always extremely proud of his large family.  He is survived by two daughters, Tammra A. Marcel and her husband Harry T. Marcel, Tanya “Nikki” Pitre, and one son Craig J. Pitre.  Grandchildren, Brandon Fonseca and his wife Tess Theriot Fonseca, Reagen M. Fonseca, Emily Marcel Blouin and her husband Michael Blouin, Courtney Marcel Brown and her husband Brett Brown, Zachary Marcel and his Fiance’ Brianne Burgess, Shaylee Levron and 10 great-grandchildren.  Four Sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Howard, Joyce Carson and Husband Kerry, Barbara Arceneaux and her husband Kenneth, Rosemary Pitre, Lisa Foret and her husband David.  Two brothers Steve Pitre and his wife Pam, and Rickie Pitre and his wife Gwen.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia “Dianne” Pitre, a daughter Trevelyn Claire Pitre, one sister Eurma Landry and her husband Russell, and three brothers Kenneth Joseph Pitre, Allen Michael Pitre, Glynn Paul Pitre.  A memorial mass will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday April 1st at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Houma, LA with a celebration of life to follow at the Jolly Inn, Houma, LA from 1:00PM ‘til.  In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the charity of your choice.

 

Kenneth Joseph Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 12 June 1969:  Washington (AP)  Two men from Louisiana were among those listed by the Defense Department as killed in action in Vietnam. They are Army Sgt. Kenneth J. Pitre, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eustice J. Pitre of Houma, and Marine Corps Pfc. Malcolm F. Leger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Leger of Patterson.
