Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 10 January 1988:  Ville Platte - Funeral services for Mr. Edward Pitre, 69, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church here with burial in old Ville Platte Cemetery.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Ville Platte, died at 1:15 a.m. Friday in Veterans Administration Hospital in Alexandria.  He was a retired taxi driver.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucille Deballion Pitre of Ville Platte; three stepsons, J. L. Guillory, Terryl Guillory, both of Ville Platte, and Bruce Fontenot of Jeanerett; three grandchildren.  Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte was in charge of all arrangements.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 16 February 1972:  Ville Platte - Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte for Mrs. Edward Pitre, 64, the former Natile Guillory.  She died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ville Platte Medical Center following a short illness.  Burial was to be in the old Ville Platte cemetery with Ardoin Funeral Home of Ville Platte in charge of all arrangements.  She is survived by her husband; two sons, Bruce Fontenot of Morgan City and Roland Fontenot of Lake Charles; one brother, Josiah Guillory of Mamou; four sisters, Mrs. Landry Lahaye, Mrs. Arthur Fuselier, Mrs. Gustave Hollier, Mrs. Ernest McGuire, all of Mamou; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
