Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 19 August 1962:  Funeral services will be held at 8 a.m. today for Eddie Pitre, 65, retired farmer of 1360 Julia st.  He died at 9:15 p.m. Friday at St. Landry Clinic.  Pitre was a native of Prairie Ronde.  He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Opelousas American Legion Post 45.  His body is at Lafond and Son Funeral Home.  Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Chapel in Prairie Ronde and burial will be in the church cemetery.  Pitre is survived by his wife, the former Mathilde Pitre of Opelousas; two sons, Aldus Pitre of Prairie Ronde and Burley of Opelousas; two sisters, Mrs. Amos Reed and Mrs. Dewey Dupre both of Opelousas; four brothers, Theodore Pitre of Opelousas, Odeah, Moise and Adelin Pitre all of Prairie Ronde; and five grandchildren.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 12 August 1971:  Funeral services for Mrs. Eddie Pitre of Opelousas will be held at 4 p.m. today at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Church cemetery under direction of Lafond and Son Funeral Home.  Mrs. Pitre was stricken at her home on Raymond St. and was pronounced dead on arrival at Opelousas General Hospital at 5 p.m.  She was 67 years old. Mrs. Pitre was the former Mathilda Pitre.  She is survived by two sons, Alduse Pitre of Opelousas and Burley Pitre of Hessmer; four brothers, Theo and Arthur Pitre, both of Opelousas, Linsey and Adam Pitre, both of Prairie Ronde; two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Ledoux and Mrs. Harold Boudreaux, both of Opelousas; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Aldus J. Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 17 October 1989:  Funeral services for Mr. Aldus J. Pitre, 63, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas with burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church cemetery in Prairie Ronde.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died 5:15 p.m. Monday in Opelousas General Hospital.  He was a high line installer with an electric company.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mae Bertrand Pitre of Opelousas; three sons, Terry Pitre of Lawtell, Wayne and Dwain Pitre, both of Opelousas; a daughter, Patty Pitre of Opelousas; a brother, Burley Pitre of Hessmer; and ten grandchildren.  Visitation began at 10 a.m. today.  A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today.  Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
