Obituary: The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 7 February 1985: Funeral services for Mr. Edwin Pitre, age 76, of Kinder, La. was at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 1985. Rosary was at 7 p.m., Friday, February 2, 1985. Chapel Service was in Ardoin's Chapel with Rev. Msgr. A. J. Robichaud officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery under direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home of Kinder. Mr. Pitre died at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 1, 1985, at the Allen Parish Hospital of a sudden illness. He was a native of the Kinder area. He was a retired farm hand. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Adeline Pitre of Kinder, La.; three sons, Mr. Shelton Pitre of Oberlin, La., Mr. Elroy Pitre of Houston, Texas and Mr. William (Bill) Pitre of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Juanita (Joyce) Amy of Bridge City, Texas; one step-daughter, Mrs. Hazel Courville of Oberlin, La.; one brother Mr. Mervin Pitre of Kinder, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Ortego and Mrs. Lucy Fontenot of Kinder, La.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Obituary: Beaumont Enterprise (Beaumont, TX), Wednesday, 12 July 1989: Orange - A Bridge City couple was killed Tuesday morning when a tractor-trailer rig collided with their car on Texas 87, authorities said. Algea Constance, 71, and his wife Lucille Constance, 75, were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Claude Wimberley, a Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said. Officials said Algea Constance, who was driving a Dodge pickup, was northbound and turning left from Texas 87 on to Texas 62 at 10:10 a.m. when a tractor-trailer rig traveling south on Texas 87 rammed into the passenger side of the car. The driver of the rig, Robert Elmer Cummings of Hillister, was not injured, officials said. No charges were filed against Cummings, officials said.

Obituary: The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 28 April 1994: Funeral services for Mrs. Claude (Adeline Pitre) Langley, 78, were held April 25 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. The Rev. James Gaddy officiated. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery in Elton. Mrs. Langley died Sunday, April 24, 1994, in a Lake Charles hospital. A native of the Lafayette area, she lived in Kinder most of her life. Survivors are her husband; four sons, Elroy Pete of Houston, William Pitre of Corpus Christi, and Shelton Pitre and Charles Langley; four daughters, Carolyn Manuel and Ellen Matthews, all of Kinder, Mrs. Roger Courville of Oberlin and Mrs. Joyce Amy of Bridge City, Tex.; 28 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Juanita was born on August 29, 1931 in Kinder, Louisiana to parents, Lucille Langley and Edwin Pitre. She had lived in the area for 50 plus years and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. Juanita in her younger years was a beautician. Juanita was a loving person who will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lee Tate; brothers, Shelton Pitre and Ron Constance. Juanita is survived by her sons, Robert LaFleur and his wife, Angela, Leon LaFleur and his wife, Gayle and Gary LaFleur; her daughter, Karen Amy-Welch; ten grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Elroy Pitre and his wife, Peggy and Bill Pitre and his wife, Reneé and sister, Dee Arcenaux and her husband, Ronnie. Entombment: Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, Texas. Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, Groves, Texas.
Shelton James Pitre: The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 6 June 2013: (photo) Shelton 'Dead Eye' James Pitre, Nov. 10, 1949 - May 29, 2013 - Shelton 'Dead Eye' James Pitre, 63, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013. He was a native and resident of Kinder. Shelton worked for the Town of Kinder for many years as a back-hoe operator and previously was a truck driver for 21 years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Darlene Berlinger Pitre; four children, Tasha and Neilson Lovejoy of Ragley, Raven Corkern and Billy Bailey of Kinder, Ashly Corkern and Ben Setliff of Dequincy, Adam Pitre of East Baton Rouge; 10 grandchildren, Austin, Ryan, Harley, R.J., Hunter, Hailey, Trestien, Brayden, Breanne, and Brynleigh. Preceded in death by his parents, Adeline and Edwin Pitre. Funeral service was held May 31 at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. John Nichols officiated. Burial followed in Carter Memorial Cemetery.
