Obituary: The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Wednesday, 9 January 1957: Oberlin - Ezab Pitre, 67, died Tuesday at 11 a.m. in a Pineville hospital. Services were to be held from the St. Joan of Arc Catholic church today at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Frederick LaBrake officiating. Interment is to be in the Oberlin cemetery.
- The Oakdale Journal (Oakdale, LA), Thursday, 10 January 1957: Funeral services for Ezeb Pitre, 67, of Oberlin were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. The Rev. Fredric LaBrake officiated and burial was at the Oberlin Cemetery under direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Oakdale. Mr. Pitre died Tuesday at 10:40 a.m. in a Pineville Hospital. He was a farmer and life resident of Oberlin. Surviving are his wife and two sons, Willard and Edward; four brothers, Hester, Eraste, Noah and Maurice, all of Oberlin. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.

Obituary: The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Monday, 1 July 1974: Oberlin, La. - Mrs. Bertha Pitre, 86, of Oberlin died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday in Oakdale General Hospital. She is survived by two sons, Edward Pitre and Willard Pitre, both of Oberlin; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services are incomplete, but burial will be in Oberlin Cemetery, under the direction of Ardoin's of Oakdale.
