Obituary: Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Monday, 21 June 2004: Earl Paul Pitre Sr., a retired auto mechanic, died Friday at Chalmette Medical Center. He was 82. Mr. Pitre was born in Houma and lived in Chalmette for the past 35 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received a Bronze Star. He was a member and former commander of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 7610. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Santos Pitre; two sons, James and Terrance Pitre; two sisters, Eula Sovine and Joyce Malcolm; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Memorial, Chalmette. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Miss.

Obituary: The Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 23 February 2006: Joyce Flad Piter McGuire passed into our Lord's loving arms on August 29, 2005 at the age of 77. Born in New Orleans, LA on February 24, 1928, she was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for over 40 years. She is the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Jeanne B. Flad. Sister of Helen F. Forsythe and the late Lawrence Flad, Terrance Flad, Lorraine Flad and Joan F. Melerine. Devoted wife of the late Berle "Mike" R. McGuire. Loving mother of Terrance G. Pitre Sr., James M. Pitre and the late Cynthia Pitre Coker. She is also survived and fondly remembered by 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Chalmette, LA on Friday, February 24, 2006 beginning at 1:00 PM.
