Obituary:  The Daily Times (Salisbury, MD), Wednesday, 15 September 1993:  Cambridge - Edward O. Pete, 69, of Glasgow Street here, died at Perry Point Veterans Administration Hospital in Perryville, Md., of heart failure Monday, Sept. 13, 1993.  Born in North Stonington, Conn., he was a son of the late Tuffield and Gertrude Seymour Pete.  He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Sharp; three daughters, Jo Ann Cannon, Debbie Mills and Laura Linn Pete, all of Cambridge; one son, Edward O. Pete Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; six grandchildren, Sherry Painter, Tammy Willis, Wesley Cannon, Sandy Pete, Jan Cannon and Jeff Mills; two brothers, Albert Pete and Roland Pete, both of Cambridge; and several nieces and nephews.  Several other family members are deceased.  They are a daughter, Laura A. Pete; four sisters, Anita M. Parker, Theresa Dawidowicz, Florence King and an infant sister; and one brother, Eugene Pete.  Pete moved to Cambridge with his family as a boy and attended schools there.  He served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.  He worked as a truck driver for J. C. Dodd in Easton for 22 years and later for Airpax in Cambridge for a number of years.  A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge.  Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7:30 to 9.  Interment will be in Dorchester Memorial Park in Cambridge.  The Rev. Charles W. Wiggins will officiate.

Obituary:  Dorchester Star (Cambridge, MD), Friday, 24 October 2003:  Cambridge - M. Ann Pete, 75 of Cambridge, passed away at the Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge Tuesday, October 21, 2003.  She was the wife of the late Edward O. Pete.  She was born at Easton July 1, 1928, the daughter of the late Raymond and Laura Wooters Sharp.  Mrs. Pete attended schools in Easton, where she graduated from Easton High School in 1945.  After she graduated from high school she worked for C&P Telephone Co. for several years.  She then worked at Whitey's Candyland, a confectionery operated by the late Whitey Barth, in Cambridge for 20 years.  She later operated Anne's Confectionery in Cambridge, and also worked at Airpax for several years until she retired.  On November 1, 1946 she married Edward O. Pete.  She attended St. Mary's Refuge of Sinner's Catholic Church in Cambridge and had been very active in the Ladies Auxiliary of Choptank Memorial Post #7460 V.F.W.  Mrs. Pete enjoyed boating and fishing and being with her family.  She had been a resident at the Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge for the past three years when she passed away early Tuesday morning.  Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Pete Cannon and her husband, Wesley Cannon, of Cambridge and Debbie Pete Mills and her husband, Jeff Mills, of Mesa, Arizona; one son, Edward O. Pete, Jr. and his wife, Lana Pete, of Kernersville, N.C.; seven grandchildren - Kaylee Painter, Josie Mae Cannon, Ayden W. Phillip Cannon, Zachary Painter and Andrew S. Frey; two brothers, John Wesley Sharp of Delaware and Daniel Sharp of Easton; two brothers-in-law, Roland Pete Sr. and Arthur Pete Sr., both of Cambridge, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition, to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura A. Pete; one sister, Virginia Adams and one brother, Bobby Sharp.  A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge.  Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Billy Cannon Sr., Ricky Cannon Sr., Ricky Cannon Jr., Bart Frey, Ray Aaron, Art Pete Jr. and Ricky Rossy.

Edward O. Pete:  Dorchester Star (Cambridge, MD), Friday, 28 October 2016:  Cambridge - Edward O. Pete Jr., born on Jan. 12, 1948 in Cambridge, MD.  On this day of Sept. 19, 2016, he went home to be with his Lord and Savior.  He attended schools in Cambridge, MD, and graduated in the class of 1966.  After graduating, he joined the U.S. Army.  While in the Army, he was stationed in Korea and Okinawa.  While serving in Korea, he married his wife Lana K. Pete.  They were married for 47 years.  He is survived by two daughters: Sherry P. Dudley and Sandy P. Brannan; two grandchildren: Kaylee Painter and Zac Painter; two sisters: Jo P. Cannon and Debbie Mills; three nieces: Tammie Willis; Jan Cannon; and Laura James; four nephew: Wesley Cannon Jr.; Jeff Mills Jr.; Robbie Sonjew; and Scott; several great-nieces and -nephews.  Ed was preceded in death by his father, Ed Pete Sr.; his mother, Ann Sharp Pete; and a sister, Laurie Pete.  Ed was a long time member of the Good Shepherd Church in Greensboro, NC, where he served as church treasurer.  He enjoyed being with his family and friends, especially his brother-in-law, Wes.  He loved his church and enjoyed traveling with his wife.  Anyone who knew him was assured that he was a godly man.  He will be truly missed by all.
