Obituary: The Monroe Evening News (Monroe, MI), Thursday, 8 May 1958: Ezra L. Pete, 62, of 322 Conant Ave., died of a cerebral hemorrhage at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Monroe Hospital where he had been taken several hours earlier. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Earle Little funeral home with the Rev. Harvey L. Rose of E Fourth St. Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. He was a member of Monroe Aerie, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the lodge will conduct a memorial service at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The son of William and Agnes Pete, he was born May 23, 1895, at LaSalle. He married Maudie Bussel Oct. 21, 1941, at Bowling Green, Ohio. He was a fireman in the boiler room of River Raisin Paper Co. He is survived by a son, Ezra L. Jr. at home; a daughter, Agnes at home; two stepsons, Richard and Howard Wyreman of Monroe; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Eli Braden, Mrs. Daniel Braden, Mrs. Earl Hill and Mrs. Thomas Stanifer, all of Monroe, and Mrs. James Thompson of Barstow, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. John Trombley and Mrs. Joseph Karwick of LaSalle, Mrs. Richard Grodi of Erie and Mrs. Howard Ravary of Monroe; 7 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
