Obituary:  Courier & Freeman (Potsdam, NY), Tuesday, 3 May 1983:  Brasher Falls - Funeral Services for Eugene L. LaShomb, 79, Maple Ridge Road, Brasher Falls, were Friday (April 29, 1983) at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Francis Croyer officiating.  Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Brasher.  Arrangements were with the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.  Mr. LaShomb died at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday (April 27, 1983) in the Massena Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since Feb. 9.  Surviving are three sons, Gerald, Brasher, Barry, Cicero, and Ivan, Auburn; a daughter, Mrs. Craig (Jean) Stowell, Brasher Falls; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  He was predeceased by a sister, Stella LaComb, in 1970.  Mr. LaShomb was born in Brasher on July 22, 1903, son of Frederick and Adalaide Sawyer LaShomb.  He attended local schools and married Anna Berry in 1928.  That marriage ended in divorce and he later married Rosemary LaFramboise, who died in 1975.  For many years, Mr. LaShomb operated a farm on the Maple Ridge Road, retiring in 1970.  From 1982 to 1966, he was the owner and proprietor of Gardner's Hotel in Massena.

- Obituary:  Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Tuesday, 29 March 2005:  Anna B. LaShomb, Waitress, clerk. Potsdam - Anna Mae B. LaShomb, 99, Auburn, formerly of Potsdam, died Monday at Mercy Rehabilitation Center, Auburn, where she had been a resident for two and a half years.  She was a former resident of Community Nursing Home.  Mrs. LaShomb worked as a waitress at McManus Restaurant and also part-time at the Roman Garden.  She then worked at Montgomery Ward until retiring in 1981.  She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of Sandstone Senior Citizens Club.  Born May 27, 1905, in Norfolk, daughter of Michael Henry and Margaret Crowley Barry, she attended Norfolk and Potsdam schools and the Watertown School of Commerce.  She married Eugene L. LaShomb on Sept. 27, 1927, at St. Mary's Church, Massena, with the Rev. T. D. Hurley officiating.  Mr. LaShomb died in 1982.  Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Barry, Kirkville, and Ivan and Shirley, Auburn, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Two brothers, John and Michael Barry, and five sisters, Ida Laubenheimer, Eleanor LaShomb, Julia Mackey, Agnes Bouchard and Mary Barry, died before her.  A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church, with the Rev. Garry B. Giroux officiating.  Burial will be later in the spring in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Garner Funeral Home.

Obituary:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 23 October 1975:  Mrs. Rosemary LaShomb, 56, of Route 2, Maple Ridge Road, Brasher Falls, was declared dead on arrival at Massena Memorial Hospital, at 2:00p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1975.  Friends may call at Donaldson Funeral Home Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00.  Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 at Sacred Heart Church.  Burial arrangements are incomplete.  Mrs. LaShomb was born April 30,1919, in Casselman, Ont., the daughter of Armond LaFramboise and Rosina LaMere LaFramboise.  She came to the United States 50 years ago.  She married Eugene LaShomb, April 22, 1945 in Brasher Falls with the Rev. Mr. Warren officiating.  Mrs. LaShomb worked in the cafeteria at Alcoa until she was forced to retire due to poor health.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Church.  Surviving are her father, husband, one daughter, Jean Marie, at home; one son, Gerald, Brasher Flats; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John (Rhea) Huzar, Scotia, NY; six brothers, Harvey LaFramboise, Syracuse; Romeo LaFramboise, Nedau; Rosario, Syracuse; Raymond, Lakeland, NY; Elwood, Syracuse; Raoule, California.  Sacred Heart League will hold a prayer service Thursday evening at 8:00.

Lawrence Barry Lashomb:  The Citizen (Auburn, NY), Wednesday, 1 May 2013:  Kirkville - Lawrence Barry Lashomb 83, of Shady Lane Mobile Home Park, Kirkville, died Monday, April 29, 2013 in the Veterans Hospital, Syracuse.  He was born May 7, 1929 in Brasher Falls, NY, to the late Eugene and Ann Barry Lashomb.  Barry was a Veteran of the Korean War, having served with the 23rd Inf. Div. of the United States Army.  He was a very proud and active member of the VFW Post 9596, BPOE Lodge 2074, American Legion Post 359 and the Korean War Veterans Association.  He is survived by one daughter Barrie-Lyn Foster and her husband Kevin of Aurelius; one brother Ivan "Red" Lashomb and his wife Shirley of Auburn; one sister Jeannie Lashomb Chapman of Adams Center; five grandchildren Joy (Kevin) Kennedy, Kristen (Ryan) Hultz, Stephanie (Tim) Schell, Joseph (Mandy) Foster and Samantha Foster; Six great grandchildren Elisabeth, Natalie, Nicolas, Mallory, Madalynn and Marcus; and one nephew Andrew Lashomb.  In addition to his parents, Barry was predeceased by a brother Gerald Lashomb.  Friends are invited to join the family for graveside services to be held Monday May 13, 2013 at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Cemetery, Potsdam.

Ivan Lashomb:  The Citizen (Auburn, NY), Sunday, 24 August 2014:  Auburn - Ivan "Red" Lashomb, 82, born in Brasher, N.Y., to Eugene and Anna Lashomb on Oct. 18, 1931, passed away very unexpectedly on Aug. 18, 2014 at Upstate University Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  Red was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a friend to all that met him.  He loved spending time with his family and many friends.  One of his favorite places to go was his camp, located in Locke, N.Y., or as Red called it "The Farm," where you would find him trimming his Christmas trees or clearing more land.  The Farm was his favorite place to hunt and fish, and he could be found there with his son and friends for opening day of the hunting season.  Red was known to enjoy a good cigar as he shared many stories and a joke or two amongst his friends.  Red was loved by many people and friends.  He will be sadly missed by all, along with his Enterprise family where he still worked for 14 years.  He was a devout Catholic; he volunteered at St. Mary's as an usher for more than 40 years.  He was a coach for the Auburn Youth Hockey Club.  He was a life member of the American Legion Post #1324 and served in the Korean War conflict.  He was also a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #207 for more than 50 years.  Red is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley; his one son, Andrew and his companion, Lisa Frank, as well as his grandchildren, Marc, Ryan, and Meghan.  He was predeceased by his parents, and one brother, Barry Lashomb.  Calling hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25 in St. Mary's Church, Clark Street, Auburn, with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11 a.m. in the church.  Contributions can be made to the Matthew House, 43 Metcalf Drive, Auburn, NY 13021 in Red's memory.  Arrangements entrusted to the Heleck-Pelc Funeral Home, LLC.

 

Gerald Frederick Lashomb:  Watertown Daily Times (NY), Friday, 18 April 2008:  Gerald F. Lashomb Sr., 61, of 11 Paddock St., died Wednesday at his home.  Mr. Lashomb was a self-employed dairy farmer, logger and producer of cedar oil.  Born Aug. 30, 1946, in Massena, he was a son of Eugene and Rosemary Laframboise LaShomb.  He married Patricia Moore on July 22, 1963, in Massena.  The marriage ended in divorce.  He later married Judith MacPherson White.  He enjoyed fishing.  Surviving besides his wife, of Ogdensburg, are a son and his wife, Gerald F. Jr. and Melissa, North Lawrence; a sister and her husband, Jennie and Rod Chapman, Adams Center; two brothers, Barry, Kirkville, and Ivan, Auburn, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  A son, Troy, died before him.  A committal service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Calvary Cemetery chapel.  There will be no public calling hours.  Arrangements are with Phillips Memorial Home.
