Obituary:  The Courier (Houma, LA), Tuesday, 13 March 1984:  (photo)  Evans Joseph Pitre, 77, a native and resident of Houma, died at 11:20 p.m. Monday.  Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today and will continue until funeral time at the funeral home on Wednesday.  The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow in the St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery.  He is survived by his wife, Marie "Mae" Louise Marcel Pitre; two sons, Junius Pitre of Mansura and Evans G. Pitre of Thibodaux; three daughters, Mrs. Roy (Betty) LeBlanc of Bordelonville, Mrs. Ray (Ruby) Foret and Mrs. Wayne (Mona) Bourgeois, both of Houma; three sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Pearl) LeBouef, Mrs. Clyde (Ismay) Duplantis and Mrs. Eddie (Vern) Babin; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Augustine Pitre; one daughter, Wilma Mae Pitre; three brothers, Harris, Virgis and Eustice Pitre; two sisters, Leah Pitre, Mrs. Vivian Bourgeois and two grandchildren.  Chauvin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Obituary:  The Courier (Houma, LA), Monday, 20 May 1985:  (photo)  Marie Louise Marcel Pitre, 77, a native of Lafourche Parish and a resident of Houma, died at 4 a.m. today.  Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. today and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until funeral time at Chauvin Funeral Home.  Religious services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel.  Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.  She is survived by two sons, Junius "Boo" Pitre of Mansura and Evans Pitre Jr. of Houma; three daughters, Mrs. Roy (Betty) LeBlanc of Bordelonville, Mrs. Ray (Ruby) Foret and Mrs. Wayne (Mona) Bourgeois, both of Houma; two sisters, Mrs. Clothilde Triche and Mrs. Nellis (Daisy) Chaisson, both of Houma; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Evans Joseph Pitre Sr.; one daughter, Welma Mae Pitre; three brothers, Jeffrey, Wiley and Louis Marcel; four sisters, Anna Robichaux, Ollie Robichaux, Bridgette Mascour and Agnes Lirette; and two grandchildren, Troy and Amy Foret.  Chauvin Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Lafourche Daily Comet (Thibodaux, LA), Wednesday, 22 July 2009:  Junius Joseph Pitre, 82, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, July 21.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years Bridget Mayeaux Pitre; two sons, Jimmy and wife Billie Pitre of Cottonport, La., and Perry and wife Sonoma Pitre of Raceland La.; two sisters Betty LaBlanc of Bordelonville, La., and Ruby Foret and Mona Bourgeois of Houma; and four grandchildren, Jimmy J. Pitre and wife Shannon, Brian Pitre and wife Tiffiny, Matthew Pitre and Jacob Pitre.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Evans Pitre Sr. and Marie "May" Marcel Pitre; one brother, Evans Gene Pitre; and one sister, Wilma Pitre.  He was a supervisor for the Terrebonne Parish Police Jury.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 23, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, at Chauvin Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery.  Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

 

Evans Gene Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (Thibodaux, LA), Tuesday, 6 June 2006:  Evans "Pete" Gene Pitre Jr., 65, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Thibodaux, died at 2:09 a.m. Sunday, June 4, 2006.  Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home.  Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.  He is survived by his companion, Delores "Dee" Porche of Thibodaux; two sons, Ronnie Pitre of Coteau and Todd Pitre of Houma; two daughters, Donna Mazerac and Julie Prestenbach of Houma; one brother, Junius Pitre of Houma; three sisters, Betty LeBlanc of Marksville, Ruby Foret and Mona Bourgeois of Houma; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Evans Gene Pitre Sr. and Marie Louise Marcel Pitre; one son, Jamie John Pitre; and one sister, Wilma Mae Pitre.  He was an auto mechanic with Don Harris and a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church.
