Obituary: The Baltimore Sun (Baltimore, MD), Friday, 31 January 1964: Power Line Worker, 36, is Electrocuted: Nanticoke, Md., Jan 30 - A lineman was electrocuted here today when he accidentally brushed his shoulder against a 12,000-volt electric power line. State police at Salisbury reported that Eugene J. Pete, 36, of Delmar, Md., was working on a utility pole in town when the accident happened. Closed-chest massage and mouth-to-mouth respiration at the scene were futile. Mr. Pete, an employee of the Eastern Shore Public Service Company, was pronounced dead at Peninsula General Hospital about 1:35 P.M.
- The Daily Times (Salisbury, MD), Saturday, 1 February 1964: Cambridge - Funeral services were to be held here today at 2 p.m. at the LeCompte Funeral Home for Eugene Joseph Pete, 37, a lineman who was electrocuted Thursday at Bivalve. Mr. Pete lived at Delmar and was employed by the Eastern Shore Public Service Co. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Dolores May Dean; a daughter, Joyce May, and two sons, Eugene Joseph Jr. and Stanley Ray. He also leaves his father, Tuffield Pete of Cambridge; three sisters, Mrs. Clinton Bradway and Mrs. Robert Parker, both of Cambridge, and Mrs. Stanley Dowidowicz of Hartford, Conn., and three brothers, Albert, Edward and Roland Pete, all of Cambridge. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in both the Navy and Army. Interment will be in Dorchester Memorial Park.

Obituary: The Daily Times (Salisbury, MD), Saturday, 20 December 2014: Delmar - Dolores M. Patilla, 84, of Delmar, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at her home in Delmar, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 18, 1930 in Baltimore, a daughter of the late Wilbur Dean, Sr. and Nellie Dean. Dolores worked a number of years in her younger days at Playtex in Harrington. She retired after many years of service as the head of housekeeping at Holiday Inn in Salisbury. Years ago she attended First Baptist Church of Delmar. She was an excellent cook who loved to feed family and friends and was best known for her chocolate chip cookies. Her basket collection was one of her pride and joys and she also enjoyed crafts, sewing and ceramics. Camping was always a favorite activity and she also enjoyed sharing her cooking with her camping neighbors. She is survived by her husband, with whom she shared a wonderful 34 years, Leo P. Patilla; 4 children, Joyce Donoway of Delmar, Stanley R. Pete, Sr. and Judy of Salisbury, Jeff Patilla of Delmar and Kelly Bayly and Bobby of Laurel; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene J. Pete, Sr. who passed in 1964, a son, Eugene J. Pete, Jr. who passed in 2001, a brother and 4 sisters. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Short funeral home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 11:00 to 12:00. The Reverend Joe Lecates will officiate. Interment will follow in Dorchester Memorial Park in Cambridge. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice, Salisbury, MD. Arrangements are being handled by Short Funeral Home in Delmar.

Eugene Joseph Pete: The Daily Times (Salisbury, MD), Monday, 3 September 2001: Delmar - Eugene Joseph Pete Jr., 48, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Cambridge, he was a son of Delores Patilla of Delmar and the late Eugene Joseph Pete Sr. Mr. Pete worked for Peninsula Roofing for six years, and worked in several fields in the construction industry throughout his life. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed. He put his heart and soul into everything he did. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a stepfather, Lee Patilla of Delmar; a brother and sister-in-law, Stanley Ray and Judy Pete of Mardela Springs; a sister, Joyce May Pete of Delmar; a stepbrother, Jeff Patilla, and a stepsister, Kelly Bayly, both of Delmar; an aunt and uncle, Gloria and Charles Todd of Cambridge; an aunt, Eunice Baker of Ocean City; an uncle and aunt, Roland and Betty Pete of Cambridge; a devoted uncle and aunt, Will and Sharon Dean of Salisbury, several caring friends, Luke and Anna Weaver and Judy Carey of Delmar; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Delmar. The Rev. Barry Devine will officiate. Stanley Ray Pete: The Daily Times (Salisbury, MD), Wednesday, 24 January 2018: Salisbury - Stanley Ray Pete, Sr., 59, of Salisbury, died peacefully on January 22, 2018 at his home after almost 2 years of battling lung cancer. Born on July 7, 1958 in Milford, DE, he was the son of the late Eugene and Dolores Dean Pete. Loving husband, father and grandfather, Stanley was devoted to his family. In 2006, he started S.R. Pete & Sons, Inc., and remained President until his passing. Stanley loved being on the water and was an avid fisherman. Stanley was a long time sponsor of the Chesapeake Cowboys Boat Docking and the Delaware International Speedway. He also enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the Delmarva Umpire Association and was a Coach and Umpire for the Delmar Little League, Pony League and Colt League for over 20 years. Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Judy L. Pete; four children, Stanley Ray Pete, Jr. and his wife Katy, Crystal Lynn Foote and her husband Jimmy, Ashley Marie Calder and her husband Dan and Joseph Swain Pete. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Aubrey, James, Stanley III, Karsyn, Daniel, Lydia, Chase; a granddaughter expected in March, Avery; and a sister, Joyce Pete. In addition to his parents, Stanley is preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Joseph Pete, Jr. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. A visitation will be held from 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM. Rev. Mike Rittenhouse will officiate. Burial will be in St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar.
