MISC: The El Dorado Times (AR), Tuesday, 3 December 1968: (photo) E. Harold Pitre veteran Lion Oil refinery employee was honored Monday in recognition of 25 years of service. He was awarded an engraved wrist watch and sapphire-set jewelry at informal ceremonies conducted by Max Moody, plant manager. A native of Opelousas, La., Pitre completed high school at El Dorado. He joined Lion's purchasing department in 1943, transferring to the refinery in 1955 where he now serves as senior clerk in the warehouse. He is a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Union County Gun Club. Pitre and his wife, the former Frances Bass, and their two sons, Benjamin and James, live at 2311 Helena Street. Mrs. Pitre, employed in Lion's accounting department, recently received her 25-year service award.
Obituary: Eddie Harold Pitre, age 97, of El Dorado AR, passed away at the Medical Center of South AR. He was born in Opelousas, LA to Charles Lewis Pitre and Lillian Esau Doucet Pitre; a retired warehouse clerk for Lion Oil Refinery; former member of the Civilian Conservation Corp; member or Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Preceding him in death were parents, wife Frances Marie Bass Pitre, brother Charles Pitre, sister Bonita Rogers, and grand daughter Brandy Embrey. Survivors include two sons: Benje Pitre and his wife Pam of Parkers Chapel, and James Pitre and his wife Barbara of Norphlet, brother J. D. Pitre and his wife Judy of Drasco, sister Betty Frances Pitre of Houston, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Survived by her husband of 48 years, Eddie Harold Pitre of El Dorado, two
sons; Benje Pitre (Pam) of Parkers Chapel AR, and James A. Pitre
(Barbara) of Norphlet AR, six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
