Obituary:  The Times (Shreveport, LA), Sunday, 24 December 1978:  Charles L. Pitre, 90, of 1331 Louis St. died Friday in Schumpert Medical Center following a brief illness.  Mr. Pitre, a native of Opelousas, was a 17-year resident of Shreveport and was a retired salesman for Ritchie Grocery.  He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.  A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday in the Osborn Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerard Foley, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.  Mr. Pitre is survived by his wife, Lillian Doucet Pitre of Shreveport; three sons, E.H. Pitre and J.D. Pitre, both of El Dorado, Ark.; and Charles Pitre of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Bonita Rogers and Betty Pitre, both of Shreveport; one brother, George Pitre of Opelousas; and two sisters, Louise Durio of Opelousas and Rina Pitre of Santa Monica, Calif.  Pallbearers will be E.C. Joyner Jr., Jimmy Malsch, Michael Landers, D.J. Rogers, Benje Pitre and James A. Pitre.

Obituary:  The Times (Shreveport, LA), Saturday, 11 January 1986:  (photo included) Shreveport - Services for Mrs. C. L. (Lillian) Pitre, 95, of Shreveport, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday January 13 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church.  Father Angelo Messina will officiate, assisted by Father Earl Beaulieu and Father Eric Pitre.  Burial: Forest Park Cemetery.  Rosary: 7 p.m. Sunday at Osborn Funeral Home Chapel.  Mrs. Pitre died Friday January 10, 1986, at her residence after a brief illness.  She was a native of Kinder, La. and had been a resident of Shreveport for 25 years.  She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lucille Simons of Kinder, La.; two daughters, Mrs. Bonita Rogers and Ms. Betty Pitre, of Shreveport; three sons, Charles L. Pitre of Houston, Texas, James D. Pitre of El Dorado, Ark., and Harold Pitre; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Pallbearers will be Benjamin Charles Pitre, James Anthony Pitre, Gregory Pitre, Brent L. Pitre, Mark Pitre and Gregory Davis.

Eddie Harold Pitre:  Eddie Harold Pitre, age 97, of El Dorado AR, passed away at the Medical Center of South AR.  He was born in Opelousas, LA to Charles Lewis Pitre and Lillian Esau Doucet Pitre; a retired warehouse clerk for Lion Oil Refinery; former member of the Civilian Conservation Corp; member or Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  Preceding him in death were parents, wife Frances Marie Bass Pitre, brother Charles Pitre, sister Bonita Rogers, and grand daughter Brandy Embrey.  Survivors include two sons: Benje Pitre and his wife Pam of Parkers Chapel, and James Pitre and his wife Barbara of Norphlet, brother J. D. Pitre and his wife Judy of Drasco, sister Betty Frances Pitre of Houston, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.  Memorials may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Charles Louis Pitre:  Houston Chronicle (Houston, TX), Wednesday, 19 July 2000:  Charles Louis Pitre, Jr., 87, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 17, 2000.  He passed on peacefully in his sleep.  He was a hardworking husband, father of eight children, grandfather of sixteen, and great-grandfather of six.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Marie Ellen Martinsen Pitre, who passed away on February 10, 1997.  He was born on October 15, 1912 to Charles Lawrence Pitre and Isaure Lillian Doucet Pitre in Opelousas, Louisiana.  He served his country in World War II as a Captain in the U. S. Air Force.  He retired from Shell Oil Company after 30 years of dedicated service.  He was an avid gardener who liked to cook and was always fixing or building things around the house.  He is survived by his brother Harold Pitre and his wife Francis of El Dorado, AR; his brother James and his wife Judy, of El Dorado, AR; his sister Betty Pitre of Friendswood, TX; his sons, Father Eric J. Pitre of La Porte, TX; Greg Pitre of Houston; Brent Pitre and his wife Debbie, of Houston; and Mark Pitre and his wife Donna of Friendswood, TX; his daughters, Elaine Schild and her husband Butch, of Houston; Elisa Williams and her husband Stuart, of Friendswood, TX; Jayne Pesl and her husband Mark, of Pearland, TX; and Cecelia Pitre of Friendswood, TX; grandchildren, Harold, Brenda, Phillip, Clint, Amanda, Lea, Scott, Jennifer, Karl, Rachel, Angela, Amber, Hilary, Candy, Melody, and Roy; six great-grandchildren, 6 nieces and 4 nephews.  Visitation will begin Wednesday, July 19 at 6:00 P.M. with a wake service being held at 7:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Church in Richmond, TX.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 20, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church to be celebrated by Father Eric Pitre.  Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Mark Pesl, Stuart Williams, A. W. James Donald Pitre:  El Dorado News Times (AR), Tuesday, 31 March 2009:  James Donald Pitre, 89, of Drasco, and formerly of El Dorado, died March 29 2009, at his home.  Born in Pawnee, La., he was the son of Charles Lewis and Lillian Doucet Pitre.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the South Pacific in World War II.  He retired from the Rock Island Railroad, where he worked as a conductor for 33 years.  He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post El Dorado branches, a lifetime member of the UTU Union, and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.  Survivors include his wife, Judy Pitre of Drasco; two sons; Greg Davis of El Dorado and Donald Pitre of Fayetteville; his daughter, Kerrie Langley of Little Rock; four grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Pitre of Houston.  A memorial service will be held at noon on Wednesday, April 1, at First Assembly of God in Smackover with the Rev. Mark Stratton officiating.  The service will be followed by a reception for family members and close friends in the fellowship hall.  In lieu of fl owers, donations can be made to the Arkansas Department of Health, Hospice of Cleburne County.  The family will be at the residence of Greg and Robin Davis.  Family Funeral Service in Heber Springs, is in charge of the arrangements.

Betty Frances Pitre:  Houston Chronicle (TX), Tuesday, 24 June 2025:  Betty Frances Pitre, 01/26/1932 - 06/19/2025:  Betty Frances Pitre was born on January 26, 1932 in El Dorado, Arkansas.  She was the youngest of five children.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaure Lillian Doucet and Charles Lawrence Pitre and her siblings, Harold Pitre, Charles Pitre Jr., Bonita Rogers, and James Pitre.  She is survived by eleven nieces and nephews: Rev. Eric Pitre, Elaine Schild and husband August, Gregory Pitre, Brent Pitre and wife Debbie, Elisa Williams, Jayne Pesl and husband Mark, Cecelia Pitre, Mark Pitre and wife Donna in the Houston area,: Benjamin Pitre and wife Pam of El Dorado, Arkansas, James Pitre of El Dorado, Arkansas, Donnie Pitre of Fayetteville, Arkansas: cousin, Lisa Berkenbosch and husband Lynn of Houston, Texas, and many grandnieces and grandnephews, and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.  Betty worked as an executive secretary for an oil and gas company until she retired.  Later she worked as a caregiver until the age of 85.  She moved to Friendswood, Texas in 1991 and has been a member of Mary Queen Parish ever since.  Her passion was being a prayer warrior and she prayed daily for everyone who was in need.  She held weekly prayer meetings in her home with some of her close friends.  Betty was fortunate to have many friends in her church and the community.  One example of her generosity was cooking and baking for others.  Many people showed her acts of kindness by taking her to church, picking up groceries, driving her places, cooking with her, bringing her communion or just sitting with her for a visit or fellowship.  We were all blessed to have her in our lives for so many years.  As she is received by our Father in Heaven she will be missed.  " Eye has not seen, ear has not heard.what God has prepared for those who love him".  1 Corinthians 2:9.  Memorial donations can be made to Mary Queen Church or a charity of your choice.  Our appreciation to the priests and staff of Mary Queen Church and all of the staff of Spectrum Hospice and nurse Gina Echegoyen.  A Visitation will be held at Mary Queen Catholic Church Friendswood, Texas on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 A.M.
