Obituary for the son:

Glen Lewis Pete:  Spokane Chronicle (Spokane, WA), Tuesday, 28 July 1959:  Priest River, Idaho, July 28 - Glen L. Pete, 28, Spokane, was killed instantly in an accident about 5 p.m. yesterday on the Quartz creek road 13 miles from Priest River.  Deputy Sheriff Alfred Rose, who investigated, said Pete, self-employed, was driving a truck on which his bulldozer was mounted.  As he rounded a sharp curve, Rose said, the back of the truck skidded and went over the shoulder of the road two or three feet.  When he attempted to climb onto the bulldozer, Rose said, the machine rolled down the embankment about 30 feet.  Pete was thrown out and the machine rolled on him, Rose said.  His wife, Leila M., with him at the time, had to go about two miles to get to a telephone.  They have five children.  The body was taken to the Sherman Funeral Home at Newport.  The Pete home is at N10212 Andrew, Spokane.  Pete had been a Great Northern railway brakeman for the last seven years, operating between Hillyard and Spokane.  He did road building and land clearing work on the side.  He attended school at Priest River and was a graduate of Newport high school and had lived in Spokane about 10 years.  He served in the army before going to work for the GN.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. R. (Tex) Hix of Lewiston.  Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Sherman funeral home, with burial in Newport cemetery.
