Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Church in Cut Off for Elbe Francis Pitre, 84, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 1996.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  He was the father of Alfred Pitre and Ella P. Squyres; brother of Venita Gilchrist.  He is also survived by six grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lufroid and Eloise Callahan Pitre; a son, Neal Pitre; a brother, Harold Pitre; a sister, Helina P. Hennessey; a half-sister, Martha P. Bourgeois; and two half-brothers, Eustache Pitre and Joe Cantrelle.  Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano was in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Thursday, 9 Jan 1941 - On Wednesday, January 8, 1941, at 12:15 p.m., Louise Duet, wife of Elbe Pitre and mother of Neal Pitre aged 25 years.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place from the Lefroid Pitre residence, Cut Off, La., on Thursday, January 9, 1941, at 4 o'clock p.m.  Services at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Cut Off, La.  Interment in Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery.  Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, La., in charge.

Obituary:  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Louise 'China' Pitre, 77, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, June 29.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  She was the mother of Alfred Pitre of Lafayette and Ella Marie Squyres of Overland Park, Kan.; sister of Nola Savoie of Cut Off.  She is also survived by three grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Augustine and Ella Pierce Pitre; four brothers, J.C., Harry, Frank and Louis Pitre; and four sisters, Cora Boudreaux, Angelle McGee, Leona Jones and Armida Pitre.  She served as a nurse in the armed forces and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.

Neil Maurice Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Friday, 4 February 1983:  Funeral services have been scheduled for 9.30 a.m. Saturday at Falgout Funeral Home, Galliano, for Neil Maurice Pitre, 46, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 5 a.m. Tuesday (1st).  Religious services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cut Off, with interment in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3-11 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. until funeral time Saturday.  He was the father of Michael, Richard and Tommy Pitre; son of Elbe Pitre and the late Louise Duet Pitre; half-brother of Alfred 'Boo' Pitre and Ella Marie 'Toatie' Squyres.  Arrangements by Falgout.

 

Alfred Charles Pitre:  The Acadiana Advocate (LA), Monday, 28 September 2020:  The family of Alfred Charles (Boo) Pitre sadly announce his death on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Lafayette General Medical Center.  Alfred was 67 when he went home to be with the Lord.  Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, September, 30 2020 at La Chapelle de Martin and Castille, Lafayette, La.  The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's downtown location on Wednesday, September, 30, 2020 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM.  John Vice will conduct the funeral service.  Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Mrs. Connie Fontenot Pitre; sons, Luke Pitre and Jean Pitre and his wife, Brittani, all of Lafayette; daughter, Marie Pitre Swindler and her husband Matt, of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Madeleine and Camille Swindler, and Shea and Parrish Pitre; sister, Ella Pitre Squyres, and brother in law, Elton Squyres of Lawrence, Kansas.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise 'China' Pitre and father, Elbe Pitre.  A resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of his life, Boo was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  Boo was strong in his faith and he and his family attended The Bayou Church.  He was a 1975 graduate of Northeastern Louisiana School of Pharmacy.  Boo was an avid golfer, outdoorsman and loved spending time in the marshes and bayous of South Louisiana.  He was known for telling a good joke.  He began his career as a Pharmacist in New Orleans followed by 5 years as a Pharmaceutical Salesman.  Changing his career to the oil industry, he worked for Offshore Energy Services for the last 38 years.  He retired as a Sales Manager for the Houston area in January, 2020.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and memories of him will be cherished for a lifetime.  Pallbearers will be Luke Pitre and Jean Pitre.  Memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Pitre's name to Sky High For Kids, Houston, TX.  A heartfelt appreciation and special gratitude is extended by the Pitre family to the nursing staff and doctors at Lafayette General Hospital Intensive Care Unit for their compassionate care.
