Obituary:  Rutland Daily Herald (Rutland, VT), Saturday, 19 February 1966:  Ernest E. Lapete - Leicester - Ernest Edward LaPete, 58, died suddenly Friday in Leicester Junction.  He was born in Barton, May 7, 1907, son of George and Effie (White) LaPete.  He is survived by his wife, the former Isabelle McAdam LaPete of Leicester; two sons, Ernest LaPete Jr. and Wilfred LaPete, both of Riverside, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Blaise of Cornwall, Mrs. Irene Lussier of Whiting and Miss Carolyn LaPete of Leicester; 13 grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the home of his daughter in Whiting by the Rev. Ray W. Blachly, pastor of the Nazarene Church of Leicester.  Entombment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon.  Friends may call at the Lussier home in Whiting Saturday afternoon and evening.

- Rutland Daily Herald (Rutland, VT), Monday, 21 February 1966:  Rites for Mr. Lapete - Leicester - Furneral services for Ernest E. LaPete, 58, who died Friday, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Irene Lussier of Whiting by the Rev. Ray W. Blachly.  Entombment was in Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon.  Bearers were Frank Lussier of Barre, Laurent Lussier of Cornwall, Harold McAdam of Waterbury, Frederick McAdam of Hardwick, Harry Rickette of Bristol and Andre Lazinesse of Leicester.

Obituary:  Rutland Daily Herald (Rutland, VT), Saturday, 4 May 1968:  Leicester - Mrs. Isabelle A. LaPete, 59, widow of Ernest LaPete, died Friday in Rutland Hospital.  Mrs. LaPete was born in Hardwick Oct. 11, 1908, daughter of Frederick and Alice (Rockwell) McAdam.  She is survived by two sons, Ernest LaPete Jr., of Riverside, Calif., and Wilfred LaPete of Laurel, Md; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Blaise of Cornwall, Mrs. Frank Lussier of Whiting and Mrs. Laurent Lussier of Leicester Junction; four brothers, Frederick McAdam of Hardwick, George McAdam of Morrisville, Harold McAdam of Waterbury and Howard McAdam of California; two sisters, Mrs. Harold White of Middleboro, Mass., Mrs. Dorothy Webb of Rock Island, Que., and 12 grandchildren.  Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Nazarene Church here with the Rev. Ronald Collins officiating.  Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon.  Friends may call at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lussier, in Whiting, on Sunday.

Alice Effie Lapete:  Rutland Daily Herald (Rutland, VT), Monday, 19 May 2008:  Cornwall - (photo)  Alice E. Blaise, 75, died Friday, May 16, 2008, at her home.  She was born Jan. 29, 1933, in Hardwick, the daughter of Ernest and Isabelle (McAdam) LaPete.  Mrs. Blaise served as a deacon, on the business committee and was active in the choir of Cornwall Congregational Church.  In earlier years, she volunteered as a Grey Lady at Porter Medical Center.  Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Arthur F. Blaise of Cornwall; a daughter, Elsie Johnson of Middlebury; a son, Brian of Cornwall; two sisters, Carolyn Lussier of Cornwall and Irene Kelly of Winooski; a brother, Wilfred LaPete of New Haven; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by an infant son, Arthur 'Skippy' Blaise II; a sister, Marion, and three brothers, Ernest Jr., Warren and Maurice.  The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Cornwall Congregational Church.  The Rev. Sally Taylor and the Rev. Gordon Mitchenson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Cornwall Central Cemetery.  Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at the Sanderson Funeral Home in Middlebury.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, Middlebury, VT, or to Cornwall Central Cemetery.

 

Ernest Edward Lapete:  The Alliance Times Herald (Alliance NE), Tuesday, 8 August 1972:  Potter, Neb. - Four persons were killed Monday in the collision of a pickup truck and semitrailer rig on U.S. 30 near the historic Point of Rocks about two miles east of Potter.  Killed were the driver of the pickup truck, Joe Cizek, 68, and two passengers, Eugene Marvin Ellis, 48, Don Wayne Brauer, 14, all of Sidney.  Also killed was the driver of the semitrailer, Ernest E. LaPete, 37, of Corona, Calif.  The State Patrol said it appeared the semi was eastbound, and the pickup headed west, when the accident occurred.

- Burlington Free Press (VT), Friday, 11 August 1972:  Vergennes - Word has been received here by Wilfred LaPete of the death of his brother, Ernest LaPete, 37, of Riverside, Calif., who was killed in an accident Monday.  He was born in Albany, Vt., Sept. 1, 1934, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest LaPete, formerly of Leicester.  Beside his brother he leaves two sons and a daughter of Riverside, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Alice) Blaise of Cornwall, Mrs. Douglas (Irene) Kelly of Whiting and Mrs. Laurent (Carolyn) Lussier of Middlebury.

Irene Mary Lapete:  The Burlington Free Press (Burlington, VT), Saturday, 4 September 2010:  (photo) Winooski - Irene Mary (LaPete) Kelly, beloved and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010.  Irene was born March 22, 1936, the daughter of Ernest and Isabelle (McAdam) LaPete in Albany, Vermont.  She lived the majority of her life in Whiting and Winooski.  Irene married Douglas Kelly on May 15, 1971 and together they enjoyed many years of camping, family gatherings, and excursions to Las Vegas, Nev.  Irene enjoyed spending time with family, feeding her backyard critters, doing her many crafts, playing bingo, doing jigsaw puzzles, and reading.  She was predeceased by her parents; four siblings; and many other treasured family members and pets.  She is survived by her husband, Douglas Kelly, of Winooski; her daughters, Barbara Benoit and her husband, Stephen, of Milton, Dorothy Lussier of West Rutland, Mary Mitchell of Sudbury, and Lucy Gambero and her husband, Allen, of Milton; and her sons, Frank Lussier and his wife, Sue, of Cortland, N.Y. and Frederick Lussier and his wife, Darlyn, of Middlebury.  She is also survived by her siblings, Wilfred LaPete and his wife, Yvette, of New Haven and Carolyn (LaPete) Lussier and her husband, Laurent, of Cornwall; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, other family members, friends, and family pets, all of which she loved dearly.  Calling hours will be Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010 at the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski from 2 to 4 p.m.  A celebratory remembrance of her life journey will be held following visiting hours at the LaVigne Funeral Home at 4 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Irene's memory to any one of her preferred charities: Vermont Children's Hospital, your local Humane Society, or the American Cancer Society.

 

Wilfred Paul Lapete:  The Burlington Free Press (Burlington, VT), Wednesday, 24 March 2021:  (photo) New Haven - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, brother, businessman and frined.  Wilfred 'Pete' Paul LaPete, 77, passed on Friday, March 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.  Born September 29, 1943 in Glover, Vermont, the son of Ernest and Isabelle LaPete.  Graduate of Otter Valley Union High School.  Pete married Yvette Booska June 11, 1966 at St. Peter’s, Vergennes.  He was recruited in the Army weeks after his marriage and deployed to Vietnam.  He worked at Burlington Drug Company, was a John Hancock representative before starting a waste business.  After selling the business, he set forth to establish the present excavation business (48yrs).  He was a Selectman of New Haven, a member of New Haven Fire Department, deputy game warden, member of the Addison County Eagles and American Legion, Vergennes.  Survivors include his wife Yvette, son Chris (Lisa Turner), grandchildren Nikki (Steven) Sickles, Haley Lauziere, mother-in-law Rita Booska, brother-in-law Eugene Booska and his nieces, sister Carolyn Lussier (Laurent).  Predeceased by son Marc LaPete, parents Ernest and Isabelle LaPete, brother Ernest LaPete, Jr., sisters Alice Blaise, Irene Lussier, and father-in-law Lawrence Booska.  Visiting hours will be held at Brown-McClay Funeral Home, Vergennes Friday March 26th 2021 from 5-8 PM.  Service will be Saturday, March 27th, 11AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Vergennes.  A mask is required for services.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Addison County Health and Hospice, Middlebury, Vt.
