Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 14 September 1987:  Funeral services were scheduled for 9 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cut Off, for Eustache Benoit Pitre, 83, a native of Cut Off and a resident of Lockport, who died at 4:14 a.m. Monday.  Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Cut Off.  He was the husband of Bridget Chaisson Pitre; father of Whitney Pitre and Wilma P. Pitre; brother of Martha Bourgeois; and step-brother of Elbe and Harold Pitre and Vanita Gilcrest.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife by first marriage, Marie Lefort Pitre; and step-sister, Helena Gilcrest.

Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 12 April 1968:  At Our Lady of the Sea Hospital, Galiano, La., on Thursday, April 11, 1968, at 4: 45 o'clock a.m., Marie Lefort, beloved wife of Eustache Pitre, mother of Mrs. Lawson Pitre and Whitney Pitre, sister of Logarde Lefort and Mrs. Andrew Curole; also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; age 64 years, a native and a resident of Cut Off, La.  Relatives and friends of the family, also officers and members of the Ladies' Altar Society of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church are invited to attend the funeral.  Services from Falgout Funeral Homes, Inc., Galiano, La., on Saturday, April 13, 1968, at 9:30 o'clock a.m.  Religious services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cut Off, La., at 10 a.m.  Interment in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.  Falgout Funeral Homes, Inc., Galiano, La., in charge.

Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Thursday, 15 July 1999:  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport for Bridget Penisson Pitre, 95, a native and resident of Lockport, who died at 6:05 a.m. July 14, 1999.  Visitation will be 8 a.m. until funeral time at the church.  Burial will be at the church cemetery.  She is survived by two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Penisson and Eustache Pitre; parents, Leon and Liza Gaudet Chaisson; son, Earl Joseph Penisson; brothers, Guy, Gabriel, Ernest and Charles Chaisson; and sisters, Alice Breaux and Rita Cobuart.  She was a parishioner of Holy Savior Church.  Falgout Funeral Homes of Lockport is in charge of arrangements.

Wilma Pitre:  The Courier (Houma, LA), Sunday, 14 November 2021:  Wilma P. Pitre, 92, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.  She was a native and resident of Cut Off, LA.  She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Lawson "Scott" Pitre; children, Laura (Johnny) Bourgeois and Ned Pitre; grandchildren, Barry John (Tracy) Bourgeois and Laurie Lynn (Karl) Doucet and great-grandchildren, Allie (Justin) Segura, John Bourgeois, Alex Bourgeois, Austin (Camille) Doucet and nieces and nephew.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Eustache and Marie Pitre and brother, Whitney Pitre.  Wilma dedicated 20 years of service to Citizens Bank.  She loved going to the casino, preparing throws for Mardi Gras, listening to books on tape and learning about her family's genealogy.  She loved and took great pride in her family and was truly cherished in return by her loved ones.  Per Wilma's wishes, no services will be held at this time.  She will be greatly missed.  Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Whitney Joseph Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), March 2000:  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Whitney Joseph Pitre, 69, a native of Cut Off and resident of Grand Isle, who died at 7 p.m. March 11, 2000.  Visitation will be 10 a.m. until funeral time at the church.  Burial will be at the church cemetery.  He was the husband of Anna Belle Cheramie Pitre; father of Ted Pitre, Willie Dassau, Lilly Williams, Connie Dubois, Trudy and Anna Chance, and Lisa Boudreaux; and brother of Wilma Pitre.  He is also survived by 20 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Eustache and Marie Lefort Pitre; and grandson, Wesley Don Chance.  Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of arrangements.
