Obituary:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Monday, 14 May 1979:  Ella Dumesnil Pitre of Franklin died Saturday at the age of 100.  Mrs. Pitre died at her residence at 807 Anderson on Saturday morning.  She was a native of Franklin.  Her husband was the late Emile Pitre.  Visitation will be today, May 14, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Ibert's Mortuary.  Funeral services will be tomorrow, May 15, at 10 a.m. from the Catholic Church of Assumption.  Burial will be at the Franklin Mausoleum.  She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Gabriel Haydel of Franklin; one brother (sic son) Rene Pitre of Kiln, Miss.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Adelaide Pitre:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Tuesday, 3 August 1999:  Adele Pitre Haydel, 99, a native of Ashton and resident of Franklin, died July 31, 1999.  She is survived by two daughters, Joy Gabriel Haydel of Franklin, and Teresa H. Thomas of Orlando, Florida; one grandson, Gabriel Lee Thomas of Scott.  Mrs. Haydel was preceded in death by her parents, Emile Pitre and Ella Dumesnil Pitre, husband, Gabriel Bernard Haydel Jr.; two brothers, Rene B. Pitre and David Pitre.  Visitation will be held today, Aug. 3, at Ibert's Mortuary, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m.  Visitation will resume Wednesday, at 9 a.m. at the Church of Assumption to time of mass at 10:30 a.m., at the church.  Father Michael Russo will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.  Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

 

Rene Benoit Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 14 May 1984:  Rene Benoit Pitre Sr. on Sunday, May 13, 1984, beloved son of the late Emile and Ella Dumesnil Pitre, beloved father of Rene Pitre Jr., Kenneth Pitre, Dennis Pitre and Mrs. Ann Pitre Johnston; brother of Mrs. Adele Haydel; also survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  Age 81 years, a native of Baldwin, LA and a resident of Kiln, MS.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.  Services from the Edmond Fahey Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 15, 1984 at 11 a.m.  Interment in Rotten Bayou Cemetery.  Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:30 until service time at the funeral home.
