Obituary:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Monday, 27 November 1995:  Oakdale - Pearl Pitre of Oakdale died Sunday, Nov. 26, 1995, in Oakdale Community Hospital.  Arrangements will be announced by Ardoin's.

The Oakdale Journal, Thursday, 30 November 1995:  Services for Mrs. Pearl Pitre of Oberlin were held at 12 noon Tuesday, November 28, 1995 in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Reverend Phong Bui officiating.  Burial was in Oberlin Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.  Mrs. Pitre, 87, died at 4:48 a.m. Sunday, November 26, 1995 in Oakdale Community Hospital.  She was a native and life long resident of Oberlin.  She is survived by three sisters, Ruby Pitre and Minnie Fontenot, both of Oberlin, and Eva Trahan of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Joseph "Moochie" Manuel, Bennie Ray Manuel, Tessie Fontenot, Bonita A. Pitre and Joseph W. Pitre, all of Oberlin; and five great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Pitre and her daughter, Anita Manuel.

 

Obituaries for the children:

Ladlis Joseph Wayne Pitre:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Wednesday, 5 December 1973:  Funeral services for Wayne Pitre, 40, of Oberlin, were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church there.  Rev. William Van Straaten, pastor officiated.  Burial was in the Oberlin cemetery with Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder in charge.  Mr. Pitre, a lifelong resident of the area, died Monday at 1:30 p.m. of an apparent heart attack.  He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.  Survivors, all of Oberlin, include his wife; one son, Joseph Wayne Pitre; two daughters, Tessie and Bonita Pitre; his mother, Mrs. Pearl Pitre; and one sister, Mrs. Anita Manuel.
