MISC:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 24 January 1946:  (photo)  Private Dallas Pitre, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luro Pitre is in the hospital in San Antonio, Tex.  He received a visit recently from his mother and father and brother, Delton, all of Prairie Ronde.  As soon as he is discharged from the hospital he will return to his former station in Harlingen, Tex.  He entered the Army in Nov. 1945.

 

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 30 November 1995:  Funeral services for Mr. Dallas Pitre, 68, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First United Pentecostal Church in Opelousas with burial in Prairie Ronde Baptist Cemetery.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Swords, died at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 1995, in the V.A. Medical Center in Alexandria.  Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Jackson Pitre of Swords; a son, Darrell Pitre of Eunice; two stepsons, Richard Maxwell and James Maxwell, both of Brookhaven, Miss.; two daughters, Glenda Olivier of Swords and Patricia Joubert of Lumberton, Texas; a step-daughter, Laure White of Sontag, Miss.; a sister, Mrs. Lurline Vasseur of Prairie Ronde; and ten grandchildren.  Visiting hours will be held from noon to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Friday until time of services.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 23 June 1986:  Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the United Pentecostal Church of Opelousas for Mrs. Dallas Pitre, the former Belle Pellerin, 55, of Swords, who died at 4:35 a.m. today in a Lafayette hospital.  Burial will be in the Prairie Ronde Baptist Church Cemetery.  Survivors include her husband, Dallas Pitre of Swords; a son, Darrell Pitre of Swords; two daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Glenda) Olivier of Swords and Mrs. Kenneth (Patricia) Joubert of Lumberton, Texas; a brother, Eddie Pellerin of Plaisance; a sister, Mrs. Rosa Mae Duplechain of Youngsville; eight grandchildren.  Visitation will be from 1-11 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. Tuesday to time of services in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, which is in charge of arrangements.
