Obituary:  Elhatton’s Funeral Home (Bathurst, NB), 1927-2018 (photo):  Mrs. Macrina Pitre, 90, wife of the late Denis Pitre, of South Tetagouche, passed away on Saturday April 14, 2018, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.  Born in South Tetagouche, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Gauthier) Gauthier.  She is survived by six children: Margaret Pitre (Jean Claude Arseneau) and Rheal (Caroline Bertin) both of Beresford, Therese Henry (Stuart), Monique Pitre (Jean Guy) and Raymond (Lucienne Lagacé) all of South Tetagouche and Jacqueline Imhoff (Raymond) of Sussex.  Many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.  One brother, Fred Gauthier of Beresford.  One sister, Corrine Pitre of Bathurst.  Several nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by her step-children: Leona, Gerard, Cajetan and Alphee.  The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton’s Funeral Home, Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at 4 p.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst.  Visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral.  Donations in memory of Macrina may be made to the St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery Fund or a favorite charity.

Leona Pitre:  Elhatton's Funeral Home (Bathurst, NB):  Beresford – Mrs. Leona Bertin, 73, wife of Rheal Bertin, of Beresford, passed away on Saturday (April 19, 2008) at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born in South Tetagouche, she was the daughter of the late Denis and Philomene (Daigle) Pitre.  She was a member of the “Filles d’Isabelle” Beresford, “Club l’age d’or”, Beresford and the Ladies Auxilary of the Herman J. Good V. C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.  Besides her husband, she is survived by: Three sons: Daniel (Sylvie) and Ronald (Linda) both of Beresford, Denis of Dunlop.  Two daughters: Pauline Bertin of Petit-Rocher, Carole Bertin (Rino) of Edmunston, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Joseph Gerard Pitre:  Elhatton’s Funeral Home (Bathurst, NB), 1935 - 2013:  South Tetagouche, N.B. - Gerard Pitre, 77, of South Tetagouche, passed away Monday (February 25, 2013) at the Laval Hospital in Ste Foy, Que.  Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Dennis and Philomene (Daigle) Pitre.  He worked for the NB Department of Natural Resources as a Game Warden for most of his life.  Besides his wife, Adeline (Legacy) Pitre and his step-mother, Macrena Pitre of South Tetagoche, he is survived by three sons: Daniel (Nathalie Pitre), Perry (Debbie Imhoff) and Maurice (Veronica Huard) all of South Tetagouche.  One daughter, Nicole Pitre (Francois Roy) of Bathurst. 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  One brother, Cajetin Pitre of Sudbury, Ont.  Two step-brothers: Rheal Pitre (Caroline (Bertin) of Beresford and Raymond Pitre (Lucienne Legace) of South Tetagouche.  Four step-sisters: Margaret Comeau (Emile) of Beresford, Theresa Henry (Stuart), Monique Pitre (Jean-Guy) both of South Tetagouche and Jackie Imhoff (Raymond) of Sussex.  Several nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by a brother, Alphee Smith and a sister, Leona Bertin.  There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday (March 6, 2013) from Holy Family Church, Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Gerard may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.

 

Joseph Alphee Pitre:  Elhatton's Funeral Home (Bathurst, NB), 1939 - 2012:  South Tetagouche, N.B. - Alphee Smith, 73, of South Tetagouche, passed away on Wednesday (November 28, 2012) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst after a lengthy illness.  Born in South Tetagouche, he was the son of the late Downing and Theresa (Pitre) Smith.  He was retired from Brunswick Mines and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club.  Besides his wife, Yvonne (Legacy), he is survived by one son, Kevin Smith (Christle) of Bathurst.  Two daughters: Donna Marie Smith of Montreal, Que. and Karen Ann Smith of South Tetagouche, six grandchildren.  Two brothers: Gerard Pitre (Adeline) of South Tetagouche and Cajetin Pitre of Sudbury, Ont.  Three sisters: Marjorie Chamberlain (Clifford) of Saint Anne's, Elvina Mullin (Bev) of Saint John and Patsy Smith of Montreal, Qc.  Two half-brothers: Raymond Pitre (Lucienne) of South Tetagouche and Rheal Pitre (Caroline) of Beresford.  Four half-sisters: Theresa Pitre (Stuart) of South Tetagouche, Jackie Imhoff (Raymond) of Sussex, N.B., Monique Pitre (Jean-Guy) of South Tetagouche and Marguerite Comeau (Emile) of Beresford, several nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by four brothers: Forest, Arnold, Harvey, Ronnie; two sisters: Leona and Mary Ann.  There will be no visitations at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning (December 1, 2012) at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave, Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Alphee may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
