Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Monday, 25 May 2009:  Grace Cecile Abadie Pitre, 79, a native of Edgard, Louisiana and a resident of Houma, Louisiana, died May 22, 2009.  Visitation will be on Monday, May 25, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home and Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at Maria Immaculata.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Maria Immaculata with burial in St. Francis No. 2.  She is survived by husband Donald Pitre, daughter Kathleen and husband Bob Cockerham of Houma, sons Jerome Pitre, Eric Pitre and wife Cindy, Gregory Pitre, John Pitre and wife, JoAnne, all of Houma, brothers Melvin Abadie and wife Betty, Clifford Abadie and wife Roseanna, and Errol Abadie all of Houma, sisters Dorothy "Dolly" Louviere, Clara Baudoin and husband Lloyd all of Houma, sister-in-law Irene Abadie, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by parents Raymond Abadie and Aurore Waguespack Abadie, sisters Mercedes and husband Roy Cooper, Aurora and husband Dick Dickerson, and Lucille and husband Fernand Dupee, Carmen and John McDonald, brother Raymond Abadie, Jr.  She was a member of NCEA, Nicholls's Reading Program, Terrebonne Kindergarden Association, Marie Immaculate Bereavement Committee, Ladies of "Renew 2000", a member of St. Vincent de Paul, Terrebonne Art Guild and Legion of Mary.  She was the secretary of Pitre Brothers Transfer.  She was a teacher at Maria Immaculata.  She lived a life of good morals and values in accordance with the ten commandments and beatitudes.

John Joseph Pitre:  The Courier (Houma, LA), Friday, 1 April 2016:  Chauvin Funeral Home, Houma, LA, John Pitre Sr. October 1, 1962 - March 30, 2016:  John Joseph Pitre, Sr., 53, a native and resident of Houma, passed away on March 30, 2016.  Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday April 2, 2016 at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until service time.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery #2.  He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Walker Pitre; sons, John Jr. and David Pitre; daughter, Maria Pitre; father, Donald Pitre; brothers, Jerome, Eric and wife Cindy, and Greg Pitre; and sister, Kathleen Pitre Cockerham and husband Bobby, all of Houma.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Grace Cecile Abadie Pitre of Edgard, Louisiana.  Above all things, he loved his family and put them first in everything.  Throughout his two-year battle with brain cancer, that one thing was constant.  All of his thoughts and prayers were for his family.  He was the type of person who would do anything for someone who needed him, and his friends and family knew him as a faithful, hard-working man who could fix, build, or work on anything.  John was a retired truck driver – from 1975–1991 with Pitre Bros. Transit and from 1991–2014 at Saia Motor Freight.  He was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church and also regularly attended daily mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.  He will be greatly missed by so many.
