Obituary: Fort Covington Sun: Died: Peets – On Friday morning, October 21, 1932, at Belleville, Ontario, Mr. David Peets, aged 48 years. Mr. Peets passed away very suddenly while at work as operator in the office of the Canadian National Railway at Belleville. His remains were brought to the home of his sister, Mrs. Agnes Walsh of Moira, N.Y., and funeral services were held from St. Mary’s R.C. Church at Brushton on Monday morning. Interment was made in St. Mary’s cemetery. Mr. Peets was born in Fort Covington in 1884. He later went to Moira where he was employed as telegraph operator. In July of 1908 he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Savage of Moira. For several years Mr. And Mrs. Peets have resided in Belleville. Mr. Peets was a communicant of the Roman Catholic Church there and for some time had been a member of the choir. He was also a member of the Belleville council, Knights Columbus. For the past nineteen years he had been in the employ of the Canadian National Railway. Besides his widow, he leaves to mourn his passing two daughters, Alice and Doris; seven sons, Leland, James, Thomas, Lawrence, Ray, Francis, and David, all of Belleville; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Walsh and Mrs. J.O. McCullough, Moira, and two brothers, John and William Peets, Moira.

Thomas William Peets: Flt. Sgt. Peets Died in Bomber Crash in Belgium - Formerly reported as missing and believed killed in action, the death of Flight Sgt. Thomas William Peets, son of Mrs. David Peets, Chatham Street, city, has now been confirmed by the RCAF through the Missing Research and Enquiry Service, according to word received by the mother. The report advised Mrs. Peets that her son was killed May 30, 1943, at Peronnes-les-Binche, Hainault, Belgium, when the aircraft of which he was a crew member, crashed. The entire crew of the plane was killed, with Flt. Sgt. Peets being buried at Peronnes-les-Binche (Charbonnage) Communal Cemetery. The family was advised that the care of burial places of all those who served in the forces of the British Empire is the task of the Imperial War Graves Commission with eminent architects already at work planning the construction of beautiful cemeteries.

Parrott Centre, passed peacefully at the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in his 92nd year. He is now reunited with both of his beloved wives, Helen "Bonnie" Peets and Vernice Peets. Cherished father of Nancy Peets and father in-law of Randall Knox. Treasured grandpa of Hailey and Kaila Peets and great-grandpa of Carson. Survived by his brother David and predeceased by brothers Edward, Thomas, James and Frank and sisters Alice and Doris. Lawrence will be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews.
